Historia
The Battle of Serenity Valley was the turning point that led the Independents to their defeat at the hands of the Alliance. Yet the Browncoats had held the valley for weeks against all odds, before being ordered to lay down their arms. Command stated they refused to send in airpower because the ground war was "too hot". But the soldiers who were there insist that was not true.... While picking up a new cargo on Persephone, Captain Malcolm Reynolds is kidnapped by a bunch of embittered veteran Browncoats who suspect him of sabotaging the Independents during the war.

Can't get past the southern accent
Revisado: 12-12-19
I think I'm going to have to read this book, instead of listening. I just can't trust anyone to give me advice with a southern accent. I know this is my issue and that I need to get over it... someday.

Historia
Jamie Fraser knows from his time-traveling wife Claire that, no matter how unlikely it seems, America will win the Revolutionary War. But that truth offers little solace, since Jamie realizes he might find himself pointing a weapon directly at his own son - a young officer in the British army. And Jamie isn't the only one with a tormented soul - for Claire may know who wins the conflict, but she certainly doesn't know whether or not her beloved Jamie survives.

Dramatic and engaging!
Revisado: 05-08-18
This book was much more exciting than the last two books, which I was a bit bored with. At the high point of the story, I put this book on to fall asleep to. I do that regularly with audio books. I ended up staying awake for 2 hours in the middle of the night, because I couldn't imagine not finding out what happened next!

Historia
The year is 1772, and the rift between Britain and its American colonies has put a frightening word into the minds of all concerned: revolution. In the backwoods of North Carolina, violence has already reared its ugly head, as cabins have been burned to the ground. To preserve the colony for King George III, the governor pleads with Jamie to bring the people together and restore peace. But Jamie has the privilege, although some might call it a burden, of knowing that war cannot be avoided.

Engaging, but offensive
Revisado: 02-28-17
Held my attention all the way to the ridiculous end. Surprised by some of the outdated ideas referenced. Had to look up when it was written and was shocked by how recent. This goes beyond the fact that the main character is from the 1940s. Done of the comments were un called for.

Long and boring
Revisado: 01-29-17
I appreciate what was trying to be conveyed, and maybe over time this story will resonate with me and I'll have to come back and rate it higher. If I couldn't have listened to it at 1.5 or 2x speed, I don't think I would have gotten through it.

Historia
When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity. Cloning, feel-good drugs, anti-aging programs, and total social control through politics, programming, and media: has Aldous Huxley accurately predicted our future? With a storyteller's genius, he weaves these ethical controversies in a compelling narrative that dawns in the year 632 A.F. (After Ford, the deity). When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity.

Glad I finally read it
Revisado: 01-04-17
Super boring for the first half. I had to listen to it at double speed to get to a part that seemed half way interesting. I keep trying to remind myself that everyone else probably copied Huxley, but since I've read/seen other stuff first, it was a bit of a yawn.
