Translation had to be bad. Sentence structure is just bad. SBT normally is a slam dunk. The voice inflection moves from childish to sinister to random outbursts... the female cast sounds like a first time and last time voice actor. Just... bad. I returned this without finishing. Sad because the concept was pretty good. First SBT book that didn’t get 5 stars.

This is a great example of a well thought out litrpg story with consistent and easy to understand game mechanics! The story line was well developed and world building set up the story for expansion via more books. The MC is relatable and it is easy to root for his success. A party of companions is established for future adventures! I am VERY excited about the second installment!

I spent most of my time listening to this book wishing it was longer. I was dreading the end of this part of the story. The book will send you from emotional highs to emotional lows in just a few minutes. I highly recommend and truly hope it has the support to garner a second book!!!

I very much enjoyed this book. At the beginning of the book the MC is very arrogant, short tempered, and easy to dislike. As this book is the first in a series the title peaks of power: BEGININGS is extremely topical! As the MC is broken through trial, he is rebuilt with the help of his companions. The character development in this story is exquisite. I strongly recommend you give this book a chance, it can be difficult to root for the MC at the beginning but hang in there it is well well worth it.

This is one of the best books I have listened to since joining audible. I laughed and cried in a 10 minute span. I storyline and descriptions in this book held me captive until 3am just to finish it in a single sitting. I was not able to put it down! Please, you must continue this series!

Eric Vall’s first installment of Metal Mage was very interesting. I found it to be a new take on fantasy. I enjoyed the idea of replicating modern tech is a mid evil society. I am excited to see how the story line progresses and the world building expands in book 2!
