Eh, did not care for this book
Revisado: 11-16-17
This book was just so-so. By the time I got to the end, I didn't care enough to find out what was going on. I don't know if the author meant for Megan to act and sound so stupid, but that bothered me a lot. For example in the beginning when the police came about Harry's kidnapping, they told Megan they were questioning the neighbors, and she says, you think one of my neighbors took Harry? And then acts stupid about why the helicopter came with search lights. She says, you think Harry is in one of my neighbor's back garden? It's like she has NO idea how crimes are solved. She takes FOREVER to see obvious clues. Anyway I am not sure why but the whole story just bored me. I loved the narrator - she did well to portray Megan's worry and fear when her son disappeared. To the author's credit though, I did not guess who the kidnapper was. :-)

Historia
A dark and gripping debut psychological thriller with a horrifying premise and a stinging twist. Alex Taylor wakes up tied to an operating table. The man who stands over her isn't a doctor. The choice he forces her to make is utterly unspeakable. But when Alex re-awakens, she's unharmed - and no one believes her horrifying story. Ostracised by her colleagues, her family and her partner, she begins to wonder if she really is losing her mind. And then she meets the next victim.

Darn it! I was hoping...

I really wish the big reveal was something different - more interesting! BUT, even with that, I loved the characters in this story - they each were very well developed and believable. I had a theory of what was really going on, and I was wrong. I liked my version better though haha! But seriously, it does all come together in the end. The narration was great and she distinguished between each character well. Overall a decent psychological thriller. I would definitely read more from the author :-)

Historia
Three minutes. That's all it takes for Meredith's entire world to fall apart when she watches the videotape of her four-year-old self with Becca, the mother she's never known. Can there be any truth in the strange and dangerous story her mother forced her to tell on camera? The search for answers leads Meredith to Darkwater Pool, the scene of the murder of a young woman, Cara, over 30 years ago. What could possibly be the link between her mother and the victim? The problem is, she's not the only one looking....

Just plain weird, and crazy people everywhere!
Revisado: 11-07-17
This started out to be a really cool concept - but then the second half of the book fell flat. I thought the author was leading up to something dramatic and interesting but then it ended up, well I don't want to spoil anything, ended up a bunch of uninteresting nothingness... The "twist", if you can call it that, was visible a mile away - so no surprise. I was hoping to be shocked and surprised as the story progressed but there were a few loose ends not tied up, and I was more like "huh?".
The narration was great, she put a lot of emotion where it mattered.

Historia
Amber Patterson is fed up. She's tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more - a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne - a socialite and philanthropist - and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale. Amber's envy could eat her alive...if she didn't have a plan.

Evil, Deception and a dash of Luxury!
Revisado: 11-02-17
Great story - kept me interested the entire time. Unlike other reviewers, I enjoyed hearing the descriptions of the ridiculously lavish houses, cars and parties! It was like an escape to try to picture all that luxury! I also loved the two points of view, and although I was able to guess SOME of goings-on, I did not see everything and was pleasantly surprised! Amber's character, with all her evil thoughts, was entertaining to listen to. This story should be enjoyed for what it is - fantasy mixed with a little steaminess (although not too graphic or distasteful), and a good dose of evil plotting. The ending was great too - I loved it!
