pretty good story with a few problems

so the story is pretty good, incorporating the Greys is something I liked. the Neanderthal/ trogs was just kinda thrown at the reader with no support in the way of earth's and humanity's past. also some basic science facts were just wrong. radioactive fallout on the moon wouldn't actually be a thing seeing as the moon has been irradiated by the giant unshielded fusion reactor we call the sun in addition to cosmic rays. both sources bathe the moon in a constant stream of ionizing radiation. and how does a space fairing civilization or in this case 2 of them have invent fusion reactors without fission or developing nuclear and thermonuclear weapons. I know science fiction has to incorporate fictional bits of science but if you're using real science a little homework goes a long way, otherwise that suspension of disbelief gets a little fubar
