Historia
Nearly everyone collects something, even those who don’t think of themselves as collectors. William Davies King, on the other hand, has devoted decades to collecting nothing - and a lot of it. With Collections of Nothing, he takes a hard look at this habitual hoarding to see what truths it can reveal about the impulse to accumulate.

The story was interesting and entertaining. I found myself laughing out loud many times throughout the book. The reader does an awesome job. I'm waiting for Mr. King's next book hopefully he's started it.

Take a tour through the horror paperback novels of two iconic decades...if you dare. Hear shocking plot summaries that invoke devil worship, satanic children, and haunted real estate! Horror author and vintage paperback book collector Grady Hendrix offers killer commentary and witty insight on these trashy thrillers that tried so hard to be the next Exorcist or Rosemary's Baby. Complete with story summaries and artist and author profiles, this unforgettable volume dishes on familiar authors like V. C. Andrews and R. L. Stine, plus many more.

I really enjoyed listening to Paperbacks from Hell. I had some of the books he talks about and now wish that I kept them to read again. I found myself laughing out loud at times. Timothy Andres Pabon does a super job with this.

Spencer Grant had no idea what drew him to the bar with the red door. He thought he would just sit down, have a slow beer or two, and talk to a stranger. He couldn't know that it would lead to a narrow escape from a bungalow targeted by a SWAT team. Or that it would leave him a wanted man. Now he is on the run from mysterious and ruthless men. He is in love with a woman he knows next to nothing about. And he is hiding from a past he can't fully remember.

A great listen!
Revisado: 12-22-17
What made the experience of listening to Dark Rivers of the Heart the most enjoyable?
The characters really were interesting. The story flowed never getting boring.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes there were many surprises.
Which character – as performed by Anthony Heald – was your favorite?
Definitely Roy's. Anthony Heald deserves a lot of credit for this read. I wish Anthony would read another one of Dean's books. The combination reminds me of Bernie and Elton.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
So much compassion!

Historia
Double Down is a true story, a terrifying roller-coaster ride deep into the heart of two men and into the world of floating Gulf Coast casinos. When both of their parents died within a short time of each other, the writers Frederick and Steven Barthelme, both professors of English in Mississippi, inherited a goodly sum of money. What followed was a binge during which they gambled away their entire fortune - and more.

Revisado: 01-23-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Double Down to be better than the print version?
Yes the reader did a wonderful job.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Double Down?
When the brothers were told to collect their chips and follow the security people.
What does Kevin Pariseau bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I don't think anyone else could have done a better job. I may get other books read by him in the future. He really added to the story.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes I liked it that much. I found myself listening to the story every spare chance I got.
Any additional comments?
The story gives a very good insight into the casino world. While listening I could picture myself there with the brothers at the card table or putting my own coins into the slots.
