Historia
When faced with new challenges, it’s easy to feel our solutions need to be equally unprecedented. We think we need a revolution. But what if this is a big mistake? In Evolutionary Ideas, Sam Tatam shows how behavioral science and evolutionary psychology can help us solve tomorrow’s challenges, not by divining something the world has never seen, but by borrowing from yesterday’s solutions–often in the most unexpected ways.

Very insightful
Revisado: 05-24-22
Many problems have been solved before. Only rarely is there a truly new solution.
therefore, if you want to solve your particular problem you should understand and explore the existing world of solutions. Likely there is a proven solution already developed for a slightly different environment. e.g. a coffee shop and a sub shop can use the same buy 5 get the 6th free card.
There are millions of high value applications for Behavioral Science insights. I can't wait to apply the principles from this book!

Historia
Washington Post national investigative reporter Carol Leonnig and White House bureau chief Philip Rucker, both Pulitzer Prize winners, provide the definitive insider narrative of Donald Trump's unique presidency with shocking new reporting and insight into its implications. Here, for the first time, certain officials who felt honor-bound not to divulge what they witnessed in positions of trust tell the truth for the benefit of history.

bunch of first hand accounts from crooks
Revisado: 02-22-20
So, here's the thing, we have a book of first-hand accounts and each account is spun to put the characters in the best light.
examples:
- crisis with kids in cages. But the homeland security head really went above and beyond to book an inter-department meeting. Really, the chief of staff should book those meetings but she decided 'something' had to be done and booked the meeting herself
- trumps lawyers were shocked and upset that Muller's team didn't like their non-summary summary. Really, they did the absolute best they could but you know.. the report is SO difficult (for leading legal scholars) to digest. How could they know that 10 counts of obstruction were in there
- The lawyers really really felt strongly it was unfair to do an investigation! Really unfair. (Their guy RR kicked off the investigation!)
- How could you even consider if there was obstruction of justice. There was nothing going on between Russia and Trump!
except... Trump talks to Roger Stone on a daily basis, Roger coordinates with WikiLeaks. Roger is charged with lying about the contact... SO unfair to investigate! How could anyone even think about obstruction of justice when there 'was no crime'! (sorry, did we forget about directing Coen to lie about Trump Tower Moscow to congress. Campaign finance violations. Manifort sharing polling data with the troll farm flooding Facebook with false news stories and bot accounts, Jr and Kush taking a KGB meeting, not reporting it to the FBI, clearly signaling in person and in the media they will play-ball, and so many more)
As utterly damning as this book is about Trump, I'm left feeling this is all looking through rose-colored glasses. Every single player is given free license to spin their actions and intentions into the best light.
This whole crew believes in 'serving the country'. Well, they sound totally servile to someone they think is stupid, and self-interested.
In the end I think these cravens are 'proud' of their work. I'm disgusted.

What did you love best about The Fear?
Delivers on Lovecraft. Answers 'what would happen if an old one awoke', in short - it wouldn't be good!
Any additional comments?
This is part one. I'm hoping to see follow-ups soon!

Historia
Compared to Michael Moorcock and Joe Abercrombie alike, Richard Morgan's fast moving and brutal science fantasy reaches its final volume as Ringil comes to his final reckoning and sees the world tipping into another war with the dragon folk. And, most terrifying of all, the prophecy of a dark lord come to rule may be coming true very close to home...The Dark Defiles is a supremely fast moving 240,000 word epic.

In a world scarred by an apocalyptic past, evoking a time both 2,000 years past and 2,000 years into the future, untold thousands gather for a crusade. Among them, two men and two women are ensnared by a mysterious traveler, Anasûrimbor Kellhus - part warrior, part philosopher, part sorcerous, charismatic presence - from lands long thought dead. The Darkness That Comes Before is a history of this great holy war, and like all histories, the survivors write its conclusion.
