Historia
Sebastien Ranes’s single mom and her feckless boyfriend can’t be bothered to take care of a stuttering 12-year-old. Banished to live with his grandmother on the far side of the country, the boy can barely understand a bus schedule when he gets dumped at the Greyhound station in Stockton, California. Given $35 and a one-way ticket to Altoona, Pennsylvania, Sebastien must cross the country - alone, without a clue how to fend for himself. Filled with youthful anger and naïveté, Sebastien heads out into the "Morning in America" of Ronald Reagan’s 1980s.

Left me feeling hopeful and happy
Revisado: 01-24-17
What a loving reflection on the making of a much beloved film! I enjoyed it from start to finish. It was fun to hear the voices of many of the people who participated in creating this movie. I've already recommended this one to friends. It isn't deep. It won't change the world, but it will leave you knowing there are nice people in the world who live what they do and are greatful for the opportunities they've been given. I was having a tough month and this audiobook cheered me up.

Eleanor knows she's a mess. But today she will tackle the little things. She will shower and get dressed. She will have her poetry and yoga lessons after dropping off her son, Timby. She won't swear. She will initiate sex with her husband, Joe. But before she can put her modest plan into action - life happens. Today, it turns out, is the day Timby has decided to fake sick to weasel his way into his mother's company. It's also the day Joe has chosen to tell his office - but not Eleanor - that he's on vacation.

A Home Run
Revisado: 10-14-16
Quirky, smart women are my favorite and Eleanor is. 100℅ a party of that club. The shenanigans she manages to fit in one day was a delight to experience. The narration was stellar! Based on her voice alone, I wish Kathleen Wilhoite was my best friend. I could listen to her talk all day! I'm so glad I own this audiobook because I know I'll listen to it multiple times. Excellent!

Historia
From the outside, Sycamore Glen, North Carolina, might look like the perfect all-American neighborhood. But behind the white picket fences lies a web of secrets that reach from house to house. Up and down the streets, neighbors quietly bear the weight of their own pasts - until an accident at the community pool upsets the delicate equilibrium. And when tragic circumstances compel a woman to return to Sycamore Glen after years of self-imposed banishment, the tangle of the neighbors' intertwined lives begins to unravel.

Great Road Trip Audiobook
Revisado: 09-26-16
Great narrator, compelling storyline. I found myself growing attached to the characters pretty quickly. There were a lot of characters to keep track of, but they were each so distinct it really wasn't a problem. I'm drawn to southern fiction and this one did not disappoint. There was romance, drama and an element of suspense woven throughout the book. I enjoyed it very much!

Historia
Mrs. Sookie Poole of Point Clear, Alabama, has just married off the last of her daughters and is looking forward to relaxing and perhaps traveling with her husband, Earle. The only thing left to contend with is her mother, the formidable Lenore Simmons Krackenberry. Lenore may be a lot of fun for other people, but is, for the most part, an overbearing presence for her daughter. Then one day, quite by accident, Sookie discovers a secret about her mother's past that knocks her for a loop and suddenly calls into question everything she ever thought she knew about herself, her family, and her future.
