Great story, HORRIBLE CONTINUOUS BACKGROUND MUSIC!
Revisado: 01-08-21
MAKE IT STOP!!! The background music goes on CONTINUOUSLY!!! NEVER STOPS!!! Even blocks out the reading somewhat. This is a nice story, typical Sparks, but the music is seriously obnoxious....

Historia
Season 2 is the follow-up to Dear Bob and Sue, a charming and sometimes irreverent chronicle of a middle-aged couple as they visit each of the country's 59 national parks, testing their mettle and stretching their endurance. In their second audiobook of the series, follow Matt and Karen as they work their way around the Western US discovering some of our most beautiful public lands, hidden gems, and revisiting a few of their favorite national parks.

An excellent listen
Revisado: 09-08-19
Matt and Karen Smith make educating us about our national parks a joy. David Colacci and Susan Eriksen make it even more entertaining! I recommend all of the Dear Bob and Sue series.

Historia
In Naked Prey, John Sandford puts Lucas Davenport through some changes. His old boss, Rose Marie Roux, has moved up to the state level and taken Lucas with her. In addition, Lucas is now married and a new father, both of which are fine with him: He doesn't mind being a family man. But he is a little worried. For every bit of peace you get, you have to pay - and he's waiting for the bill. It comes in the form of two people found hanging from a tree in the woods of northern Minnesota. What makes it particularly sensitive is that the bodies are of a black man and a white woman, and they're naked....

Sandfords' twists and turns
Revisado: 04-20-17
Naked Prey delivers all of John Sandford's usual twists and turns in superb style. I love the way he describes the action scenes from 2 different perspectives. Richard Ferrone delivers the lines with aplomb! The characters - the old ones that return with each book - and the new ones are developed quickly and blossom into stars. Even the ones you love to hate! Cannot wait for the next book!

Riveting storytelling
Revisado: 05-15-15
Greg Iles never lets me down- riveting pace, fascinating characters, twists and turns! I enjoyed the way he took some historical events and added fictional action. It's motivated me to go back and read again about the events.

Historia
The thrilling new novel in the number one New York Times best-selling series. In Southeast Minnesota, down on the Mississippi, a school board meeting is coming to an end. The board chairman announces that the rest of the meeting will be closed, due to personnel issues. “Issues” is correct. The proposal up for a vote before them is whether to authorize the killing of a local reporter. The vote is four to one in favor. Meanwhile, not far away, Virgil Flowers is helping out a friend by looking into a dognapping, which seems to be turning into something much bigger and uglier.

John Sandford never lets me down
Revisado: 02-14-15
I have been reading and listening to Mr. Sanfords books for years and each one is a treasure. Lots of plots and subplots, twists and turns, and love-able and hate-able characters.

Historia
In Being Mortal, best-selling author Atul Gawande tackles the hardest challenge of his profession: how medicine can not only improve life but also the process of its ending. Medicine has triumphed in modern times, transforming birth, injury, and infectious disease from harrowing to manageable. But in the inevitable condition of aging and death, the goals of medicine seem too frequently to run counter to the interest of the human spirit.

Required reading for everyone
Revisado: 01-15-15
This book was riveting. As an icu nurse practitioner I often face patients and families at their worst moments of life. If the hard conversations were held early on after a life threatening diagnosis is made, decisions in the icu would be easier.
