Historia
One in ten American adults tried intermittent fasting last year, and they may be on to something. The latest research shows that fasting repairs cellular damage, improves the outcomes for chemotherapy patients, and helps with keeping a healthy weight, leading to a resurgence in recent years. Journalist Steve Hendricks’s The Oldest Cure in the World tells the history of fasting—from the ancient world (Jesus treated an epileptic with fasting) to its rediscovery centuries later.

As Good As It Can Be
Revisado: 02-16-25
This was one of the best non-fiction health books I have ever read/listened to. I really enjoyed the stories, personal experiences of the author, and the research all in one. The narration was really good. If you’re interested in the subject of fasting, this is the perfect book for you.

One of a Kind
Revisado: 03-03-23
If you’re acquainted with Ram Dass and want to learn more details about his many adventures this book is for you. I appreciated the thoughts and commentary about why he did what he did, and believed what he believed. I found him very open and honest about his struggles and insights. Ram Dass is no saint, but he was in the battle to become one and find truth. It was a pleasure spending many hours learning about his life and story.

Historia
Can’t Hurt Me, David Goggins’ smash hit memoir, demonstrated how much untapped ability we all have but was merely an introduction to the power of the mind. In Never Finished, Goggins takes you inside his Mental Lab, where he developed the philosophy, psychology, and strategies that enabled him to learn that what he thought was his limit was only his beginning and that the quest for greatness is unending.

Audiobooks don’t get better than this nor do stories and biographies. David Goggins is a survivor and has the ultimate comeback story, again and again. I especially like to hear about his injury recovery stories and therapy protocols. Thank you David for sharing and being generous.

Historia
Hell-Bent explores a fascinating, often surreal world at the extremes of American yoga. Benjamin Lorr walked into his first yoga studio on a whim, overweight and curious, and quickly found the yoga reinventing his life. He was studying Bikram Yoga (or “hot yoga”) when a run-in with a master and competitive yoga champion led him into an obsessive subculture—a group of yogis for whom eight hours of practice a day in 110- degree heat was just the beginning.

Fantastic Story of Hot Yoga
Revisado: 03-10-22
This book is fantastic. The information, biographies, personal experience and stories of this book make it come alive. This is one of those audiobooks that go so quickly it was hard to “put down”. Benjamin Lorr is an awesome writer and a good audiobook producer.

Historia
The American supermarket is an everyday miracle. But what does it take to run one? What are the inner workings of product delivery and distribution? Who sets the price? And who suffers for the convenience and efficiency we’ve come to expect? In this rollicking exposé, author Benjamin Lorr pulls back the curtain on this highly secretive industry.

Fantastic Listen
Revisado: 01-16-22
This was a fantastic listen. The information given filled in some curiosity gaps in how we get our food. I will never forget some of the people and stories the author wrote about. I highly recommend this title.
The only bad part is being left with the truth of who we are as humans…and what that means.
