It was ok. The first time I read it I had to put it down because it was boring and I couldn't get into it. The second time I picked it up, it was a little better. The characters and plotline seemed a little more interesting. I really can't say much about the book because there isn't much to say. I won't be buying the rest in the series.

I like this series. There really isn't anything bad to say about this installment of this series. Sarah Graves weaves an interesting tail that puts Jake into trouble that only she can get out of. As always, Lindsay Ellison does a fantastic job as Jake. In my opinion, she is Jake Tiptree. I have read all of the books in this series and will read the next one as well.

This book is fantastic

This is a great book. It picks up right where the first book, Night Myst, left off. Cecily and her friends continue to fight the good fight. They lose allies and gain others. The characters grow and develop for better or worse. The one thing I did not like is that Cecily is always the sacrificial lamb. I know that is part of her character's purpose, I only wish all of the betrayals and humiliations did not have to happen to her. It should be spread out a little more. This is a great book and I can't wait to read the next one.

A little different, but not in a good way...

There are no redeemable factors to help this book. It is in a word awful. The characters are stale and lifeless and so was the plot. I did not finish the book nor did I fast forward to the end to see who committed the crime and why. I did not care. The author used to many Yiddish phrases that were out of place and for a character that is based in California, there is no reason that she should have a stereotypical Jewish accent. It ruined the story. I wouldn't waste a credit on it.
