Clear, insightful and totally relevant today!
Revisado: 02-06-25
The points raised are exactly what we are wrestling with today! Did progressive attitudes and affirmative action programs actually help those they were intended to help? Did they harm others? Have they hindered people and sewn the seeds of resentment and division? Is society better off? And very much more.

A True Crime must Listen!
Revisado: 08-17-24
The book lays out facts and clues in a clear logical manner. My view of the “Sons of Sam”, occultism, and a number of other things has forever changed, especially in light of what we now know about some ‘religions’. A real substantive investigation that spans decades and is more than a little disquieting.

Historia
Hillbilly Elegy is a passionate and personal analysis of a culture in crisis - that of white working-class Americans. The decline of this group, a demographic of our country that has been slowly disintegrating over 40 years, has been reported on with growing frequency and alarm but has never before been written about as searingly from the inside. J. D. Vance tells the true story of what a social, regional, and class decline feels like when you were born with it hung around your neck.

An Extremely Interesting Book with Excellent Insights!

Although the book discusses Ohio - Kentucky rustbelt cultural issues through his own story, many of these same issues pervade the once prosperous former industrial belt throughout the Midwest.

Historia
Award-winning investigative journalist Ross Coulthart has been intrigued by UFOs since mysterious glowing lights were reported near New Zealand's Kaikoura mountains when he was a teenager. The 1978 sighting is just one of thousands since the 1940s, and yet research into UFOs is still seen as the realm of crackpots and conspiracy theorists.

Excellent & Comprehensive Summary of UFO/UAP Topic!
Revisado: 06-17-23
I’ve read and listened to a number of other books on the topic. Yet, I found myself thinking “I didn’t know that!” Or “I never put the timeframe of those events together!” Really an excellent summary of the topic back to post WWII.
That stated, I’d like to see an update chapter from the time of writing to today. A lot has happened. It’s that well researched and a darned good listen!

A UAP/UFO TOPIC MUST LISTEN!
Revisado: 05-08-23
So very, very informative! I very highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the topic! It definitely clears up much that has been misunderstood or little known. Dr. Hynek was a very thoughtful, wise, and analytical person that has typically been sold short in popular media. I have come to deeply respect his contributions and suggestions. Dr. Hynek was and remains accurate; we need a serious truly scientific investigation. In addition, it is now clear that today we see objects or phenomena the same as or very similar to that which has been seen for over 70 years.

A Classic! And still very entertaining!
Revisado: 01-07-23
The story held up far, far better than I had expected! The science is dated, naturally. But still a great descriptive story that definitely grabbed my attention. The 1982 movie version with Kurt Russell is pretty close to the original story. While critics may have panned the special effects in that movie, they are a decent interpretation of the novella. Some minor updating to the science, and the story would definitely work today!

Historia
Mike Rinder’s parents began taking him to their local Scientology center when he was five years old. After high school, he signed a billion-year contract and was admitted into Scientology’s elite inner circle, the Sea Organization. Brought to founder L. Ron Hubbard’s yacht and promised training in Hubbard’s most advanced techniques, Rinder was instead put to work swabbing the decks. Still, Rinder bought into the doctrine that his personal comfort was secondary to the higher purpose of Hubbard’s world-saving mission.
