Historia
Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Historia
The police in Jersey County, Illinois, accepted Paula Sims' story of a masked kidnapper who snatched her baby girl, Lorelei, from her bassinet. Three years later, her second newborn daughter suffered an identical fate - and this time the police were unable to stop searching until they had discovered the whole horrifying truth. This is the full terrifying story of twisted sexuality and hate seething below the surface of a seemingly normal family and of the massive investigation and nerve-shattering trial that made the unthinkable a reality.

Best True Crime Book I’ve read
Revisado: 09-13-19
True crime books can be monotonous and sometimes plain boring. This book was so well written and performed it had me captivated from the first page. It churned up my personal emotions and I was compelled to read it almost constantly until finishing.

kind of boribg
Revisado: 08-31-19
It was interesting to hear the cases from a profiler point of view but I did not learn anything new about these cases that I hadn’t already read in other books. The author is obviously very accomplished but is arrogant and it’s a put off when reading. I wish I didn’t waste my credit on this one

A literary masterpiece that is timeless
Revisado: 11-17-18
The movie does not even come close to touching on the majesty of the book. It is like comparing a photo of the Grand Canyon to swing it in real life. The prose is so beautiful it hypnotizes the reader. The point of the book is how beautifully it’s written - I was hooked by the first 3 sentences. If you do not read this book you are missing out on some of the best writing I have ever experienced including Hemmingway. Will Patton was phenomenal.
