What does it mean to be a human in a world that is increasingly built by and for machines? In Futureproof: 9 Rules for Humans in the Age of Automation, New York Times technology columnist Kevin Roose lays out a hopeful, pragmatic vision of how people can succeed in the machine age by making themselves irreplaceably human. He shares the secrets of people and organizations that have survived technological change, and explains how we can protect our own futures.

Well balanced and a must listen/read
Revisado: 04-23-23
The first thing I noticed was the publication date when I bought this audible. The second thing I noticed is how relevant the content is considering todays current hypecycle and and FUD about AI. A great listen to reduce the medias job of overloading your negative emotions. Highly suggested.

Historia
Can’t Hurt Me, David Goggins’ smash hit memoir, demonstrated how much untapped ability we all have but was merely an introduction to the power of the mind. In Never Finished, Goggins takes you inside his Mental Lab, where he developed the philosophy, psychology, and strategies that enabled him to learn that what he thought was his limit was only his beginning and that the quest for greatness is unending.

Just a heads up Goggins is not doing the majority of the reading. Story is just as good if not better than his first book. Worth the price and the time. Another purchase to listen to many time over.

Basically go get a good night sleep. Also, YMMV.
Revisado: 01-03-22
The whole listen was about how much of the sports recovery is not backed by hard science. The one modality that was NOT covered was a traditional dry sauna. Infrared sauna was covered and cryo "therapy",. A good listen for traffic time. Nothing too ground breaking.

Historia
In her hit Netflix comedy special Baby Cobra, an eight-month pregnant Ali Wong resonated so strongly that she even became a popular Halloween costume. Wong told the world her remarkably unfiltered thoughts on marriage, sex, Asian culture, working women, and why you never see new mom comics on stage but you sure see plenty of new dads.

So honest and truthful
Revisado: 10-19-19
Ali exposes herself in such away that makes you look and reflect at your own life. Written as a letter to her daughters Ali shares what she has learned in her life. Through Ali’s sharing she not only tells her story but also shares that there is learning through all the journey we call life. One surprising quote to hear from her “There is no linear path to success. And no linear path to maintaining it even if you do achieve it.” That type of wisdom only comes from a person that has live through difficult times.

Historia
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

I am not crazy . . . I am just NOT like you.
Revisado: 12-07-18
If you know who David Goggins is buying this audio book is a must. There is additional material not in the kindle or physical book. That material adds more dimension to the story of his life. This book is NOT just an autobiography it is a manual that provides the structure for you to make yourself hard and get rid of all the excuses. The book is in a in your face and real life voice and tone of David Goggins. So don't expect this to not convict you in some manner. I have already listen to this book a couple of times and taken online notes to review periodically.

VERY Informative
Revisado: 06-17-16
What made the experience of listening to Peak the most enjoyable?
Oh this was a very dry listen. Just had to grind through it because of the valuable lessons.
What did you like best about this story?
Very well laid out an methodical presentation.
What didn’t you like about Sean Runnette’s performance?
Dry and monotone.
What insight do you think you’ll apply from Peak?
What it REALLY takes to be good and even great at something.
Any additional comments?
Someone PLEASE sponsor a town hall meeting with Anders Ericsson, Angela Duckworth
and Cal Newport. The three of them would lead to a very interesting and uplifting conversation.
