Historia
It’s not stalking if he’s your hot neighbor…right? At least, that’s what I tell myself when Adrian Carter moves in next door. His scowl should make me want to run in the other direction, but when I catch him smothering a smile around me, it makes me want to get to know him more. And when Adrian starts to open up, I find myself falling in love with the cinnamon roll center hidden beneath his gruff exterior. But between my emotional baggage and his aversion to relationships, it’s looking like we’ll never be more than neighborly.

Way to Sappy
Revisado: 04-13-25
I appreciate that the story leaves out the typical explicit sex scenes of romantic comedies, but this story is just way to corny and sappy. Nothing happens except these two drink tea (constantly) and think to themselves about how attracted they are to each other. How he is so handsome and she is so cute. Then they get together and they just say the same things they had been saying to themselves, except now to each other. Nothing really happens. Boring and sappy.

I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out...and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late. But I reassure myself: The Winchesters don’t know who I really am. They don’t know what I’m capable of....

So Stupid
Revisado: 10-08-24
Could not finish it. So predictable. Stupid people dealing with a crazy person, knowingly taking risks, and then always saying “I’m sure it will be ok”. Reminds me of that commercial where a group of teenagers are running from a maniac, and instead of heading for the car and driving away, they decide to hid in a dark shack full of axes.

Historia
If I had to pick a bride of convenience, my first choice would not be Peach Maloney. My 50th choice would not be Peach. Top spot on my list of occupational hazards? Yes. Royal pain in the crumpets? Yes. A bride of convenience? No. But I've unexpectedly gone from royal bodyguard to monarch, having inherited a crown that was stolen from my family long before my birth. The kicker? In order to take the throne, I must find a wife. Have I mentioned Peach would not have been my 100th choice? But I've no other options, and she needs a favor that my new position can fulfill quite nicely.

Historia
Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea… and it just might work.

Minority Negative Review
Revisado: 02-11-24
I can understand that this very detailed family epic took much talent and effort to write, but I am really not a fan. All of the characters (except maybe Toby, the young boy) are very unlikable. They are almost always miserable, whining, sometimes evil, and overthinking all of the reasons they deserve to be miserable. It took great effort to finish it.

Historia
In 1978, in the tailwind of the golden age of air travel, flight attendants were the epitome of glamor and sophistication. Fresh out of college and hungry to experience the world―and maybe, one day, write about it―Ann Hood joined their ranks. After a grueling job search, Hood survived TWA’s rigorous Breech Training Academy and learned to evacuate seven kinds of aircraft, deliver a baby, mix proper cocktails, administer oxygen, and stay calm no matter what the situation.

Too much introspection … not much else.
Revisado: 04-24-23
This book is pretty much 15 minutes of a tragic incident, and 11 hours of sentences that start … he thought ….. she wondered … she felt … he remembered … she needed … he regretted … she needed … he wondered, etc, etc, etc, at nauseum. There really is not much going on, just characters thinking, remembering, wondering, regretting, needing, avoiding, watching, dreaming, looking, feeling, and then repeating it all over again.

Historia
Lillie Silva knew life as an empty nester would be hard after her only child left for college, but when her husband abruptly dumps her for another woman just as her son leaves, her world comes crashing down. Besides the fact that this announcement is a complete surprise (to say the least), what shocks Lillie most is that she isn't...heartbroken. She's furious. Lillie has loved her life on Cape Cod, but as a mother, wife and nurse-midwife, she's used to caring for other people...not taking care of herself.

Historia
The world has changed around 79-year-old librarian Millicent Carmichael, a.k.a. Missy. Though quick to admit that she often found her roles as a housewife and mother less than satisfying, Missy once led a bustling life driven by two children, an accomplished and celebrated husband, and a Classics degree from Cambridge. Now, her husband is gone, her daughter is estranged after a shattering argument, and her son has moved to his wife's native Australia, taking Missy's beloved only grandchild half-a-world away.

Bait and Switch
Revisado: 11-27-21
Pro-abortion propaganda and a smattering of anti-Brexit sentiments hidden inside a sweet story of an old lady. I wish I had known that before I purchased it. Also, why is there never a consideration of adoption as an alternative to abortion? As a mother of two adopted children (with developmental disorders due to biological moms’ use of alcohol during their pregnancies), I’ll admit that I am biased, and believe that every conceived baby deserves a chance at life. If you are not able to care/love your child, please give it to someone who will, rather than kill it.

Historia
Daniel leads a rich life and considers himself to be a mostly lucky guy - despite the fact that he’s suffered from a debilitating disease since he was a small child, one that has left him unable to speak or to move without a wheelchair. Largely confined to his home, Daniel spends the hours he’s not online communicating with irate air travelers observing his neighborhood from his front porch. One young woman passes by so frequently that spotting her out the window has almost become part of his daily routine. Until the day he’s almost sure he sees her being kidnapped.

No need for Political Jabs
Revisado: 08-12-21
To Will Leitch: References such as “white nationalists”, southern systemic voter suppression”, and “right wing memes” to name a few, are in no way related to the story/plot and add nothing to it. Better to leave out the political jabs and focus on the story.
