I absolutely love me some Dean Koontz! I remember reading this book many years ago, and have forgotten most of it. So, I thought I would try it on audible.........(love audible too!) All I can say is the ending wasn't what I expected, nor was it what it should have been...........I would still say to get this book.....it just wasn't my liking as far as endings go.....

The best stories pull readers in and keep them turning the pages, eager to discover more—to find the answer to the question: "And then what happened?" The true hallmark of great literature is great imagination, and as Neil Gaiman and Al Sarrantonio prove with this outstanding collection, when it comes to great fiction, all genres are equal.

Would you try another book from the authors and/or the narrators?
Some of the narrators, yes.
Would you ever listen to anything by the authors again?
I don't think so. I was left so confused by the few stories I was able to make it through. I couldn't even finish the book!
How could the performance have been better?
Better endings?!?!?
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Confusion!
Any additional comments?
Very, very disappointed!

Historia
A master storyteller at his best - the O. Henry Prize winner Stephen King delivers a generous collection of stories, several of them brand-new, featuring revelatory autobiographical comments on when, why, and how he came to write (or rewrite) each story. Magnificent, eerie, utterly compelling, these stories comprise one of King's finest gifts to his constant fan. "I made them especially for you," says King. "Feel free to examine them, but please be careful. The best of them have teeth."

STOP. You should not have touched this flyer with your bare hands. NO, don't put it down. It's too late. They're watching you. My name is David Wong. My best friend is John. Those names are fake. You might want to change yours. You may not want to know about the things you'll read on these pages, about the sauce, about Korrok, about the invasion, and the future. But it's too late. You touched the book. You're in the game. You're under the eye. The only defense is knowledge. You need to read this book, to the end. Even the part with the bratwurst. Why?

What an imagination!!!
Revisado: 12-19-13
Would you listen to John Dies at the End again? Why?
Probably not....but, it was without a doubt one of the most interesting stories I've listened to in a long time!
Who was your favorite character and why?
David was...because he was so......clueless...and it's hard to put into words the way the author did!
Have you listened to any of Stephen R. Thorne’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No....I only bought this audio book because I had just seen the movie 3 nights earlier...and when I was looking for a book to purchase....here it was!
If you could rename John Dies at the End, what would you call it?
I think "John Dies at the End" is a much better eye catcher than "The Soy Sauce"

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
???????????????? !
What does Bob Dunsworth bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He started out sounding a little mono-tone to me....but as I got further into the listen...his voice lent itself well to the Native American story line.
Any additional comments?
I wouldn't listen again, but, it's a good 1st time listen.

Even tho I liked the audio version of this book.... after having watched the movie, a friend loaned me her hard bound copy of the book....which included a dictionary of "their language" I became sooo hooked....I bought every new soft cover that came out, following Paul's journey..........but, I never bought the final book.....it started going waaaaaaay out in left field, and I found it hard to understand! But this listen is very good!
