Historia
This book is part memoir, history, exploration, and critique of the Jehovah's Witness religion. I was born and raised as a Jehovah's Witness. Eventually, I found myself shunned due to actions considered unacceptable by the leaders of the religion at the time. I lost everything except the shirt on my back and the shoes on my feet. I faced a series of personal setbacks as a result of being cut off from childhood friends and family.

some good insights but mostly an angry rant marred by horrible ignorance.

I appreciate his inside knowledge of the JW sect but he was obviously seriously wounded and that clouds his vision. He says so many blatant falsehoods about Christianity in general and tries to pass as a quasi theologian. When he says all Jesús thought about eternal life is in Matthew 25. important passage, yes, but stupidly ignorant of scripture. I couldn't finish the book.

Historia
In 1519, the Spanish conquistador Hernando Cortés first met Montezuma, the Aztec emperor, at the entrance to the capital city of Tenochtitlan. This introduction - the prelude to the Spanish seizure of Mexico City and to European colonization of the mainland of the Americas - has long been the symbol of Cortés' bold and brilliant military genius. Montezuma, on the other hand, is remembered as a coward who gave away a vast empire and touched off a wave of colonial invasions across the hemisphere. But is this really what happened?

deceptive title

Horrible book. Reconstructionist history with very little substantial argument to justify novel interpretations. I expected something else and unfortunately wasted my money on this book.

Historia
