Hilarious and fun
Revisado: 05-01-25
This story had to have been written specifically for Adam Baldwin to narrate. Fantastic right-wing politically incorrect humor and tons of nerd references, including several Firefly references. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time and will likely relisten in the future. The short length is perfect for a quick listen when you need a good laugh.

The main character was a pushover but got better by then end. Be aware of homosexual characters and promiscuity. It was very much a soap opera story.

A charming Christmas tale
Revisado: 12-29-24
Rosanna M. White does it again, delivering a wonderful, engaging story. She has become one of my favorite authors since I discovered her on Audible. This is a quick, delightful Christmas tale with charming characters, good morals and lessons, and the perfect magical whimsy for the season. Liz Pierce is second to none as the narrator, with her clear diction and fantastic voices and accents. I highly recommend this book and will certainly give it another listen next Christmas.

Another fun entry to the series
Revisado: 11-23-24
After the ending of book 4, I figured this series would be over so I was absolutely delighted to get another installment! Yes, the series is formulaic, but the characters are so lovable and the stories so heartwarming that I don't care. A perfect, cozy Christmas mystery. But listen to the first books in the series before this one. They are all good, clean holiday fun. And the narrator is fantastic as well.

Fun stories, didn't like the narrator
Revisado: 09-19-24
This is a cute collection of kids stories. If you're familiar with the collection of Tinkerbell movies, you'll see all the same fairies in these stories, along with a few new ones. The narrator, however, reads at such a slow, stilting pace that I gave up on the book at first. I ended up listening to it at 1.5 speed, which made it bearable. Personally, I'd skip the audiobook and get the physical books to read to your kids instead.

Historia
Mark Rivers was a firefighter until he got trapped in a wildfire and suffered third-degree burns on his face and body. After a year of recovering, Mark is trying to piece his life back together but struggles both emotionally and psychologically. He's been a recluse until he forces himself to attend his niece's school play and sees Riley, the school's art teacher. Immediately, Mark feels a connection to her. Maybe it's the kind way she greets his niece or the way the art she created for the school play is reminiscent of his late mom's artwork.

Feel-good Christmas story
Revisado: 01-09-24
The storyline was enjoyable. Two people helping each other learn how to move on and grow from various difficult pasts. Kind of a Hallmark Christmas movie in book form. The narrator wasn't my favorite. Not enough difference between voices; sometimes it was hard to tell who was speaking, or whether someone was speaking or just thinking something. I'd recommend the book for a one-time listen, but it won't be a repeat listen for me.

Gracelynn Ferguson never expected to take her elder sister’s place as a Christmas bride, but when she’s thrust into the choice, she will trust in her faithful novels and overactive imagination to help her not only win Frederick’s heart but also to solve the murder mystery of Havensbrook Hall.

Fun romantic mystery with some holiday sprinkled in
Revisado: 12-21-23
I found this story to be very fun and engaging. I didn't want to stop listening! The heroine being obsessed with books was a fun trait that plays into the plot. I didn't expect the Christian faith elements in the story, but I personally loved it. It is a clean romance, but there is some innuendo between the main married couple, so be aware if you have littles around. As another reviewer said, it is nice to have a couple in a marriage of convenience that actually like each other from the start, so you don't have to spend a ton of time with them brooding and not talking and eventually finding ways to get along. Narrator did a good job. Will definitely be getting the next book in the series to continue the adventure!

Good, not great
Revisado: 01-31-23
I enjoyed the story. It kept me engaged and definitely had amusing moments, but wasn't the most exciting I've ever read. The message in the story was good. A clean Christian historical romance. I wasn't very fond of the narrator however. She was good with the accents, but her cadence was odd, almost robotic, when characters were speaking, especially the male characters. I will likely try to avoid books narrated by her in the future.

More depressing than I want in a Christmas story
Revisado: 11-29-21
I almost gave up on this book multiple times. The main female character just annoyed me so much for most of the story with her false sense of guilt and self pity. I felt really bad for her husband, trying to help and deal with everything as the family struggled with the health issues of her mom. Yes, being the sucker I am I did cry at the end, and it had a good redemptive message of forgiveness, but most of the story was so depressing and just not fun to listen to. Not the uplifting kind of story I want to listen to at Christmas. I'm glad it was an Audible plus catalog book and I didn't spend a credit on it.

So good!
Revisado: 10-31-21
Fantastic, clean historical romance. I don't think I've ever laughed so much listening to a book in this genre, but there was a lot of adventure, mystery, and tension in addition to the humor. The narrator was a master of voices and accents and did an excellent job. Highly recommend and I will be looking for other books from this author.
