Eh
Revisado: 12-30-20
I’m okay with the overly descriptive landscape, plants, horses, etc. The occasional mismatch of pronunciation is really annoying, Ja-TAME-ee-oh suddenly becomes Ja-TOM-ee-oh. I know it gets worse throughout the series, it’s not that hard to pick one pronunciation and stick to it.
What I’m really NOT okay with is the porn. One or two mild discrete scenes are fine but this is WAY WAY WAY too much. How many times do we have to hear Ayla’s theory about how babies are started by a man’s “organ”. *barf* Thankfully we have fast forward to skip that garbage.

Drunk?
Revisado: 10-31-19
Every character sounds like a spoiled whiny teenager who stayed up all night drinking and smoking. I can picture smudged cheap eye makeup, a too short jeans skirt, and some kind of tube top. Even our sweet and intelligent Sookie sounds like a trashy girl who just puked behind a dumpster and went right back to flirting with the nearest guy in this one.

Historia
The year was 1917. As a war raged across the world, young American women flocked to work, painting watches, clocks, and military dials with a special luminous substance made from radium. It was a fun job, lucrative and glamorous - the girls themselves shone brightly in the dark, covered head to toe in the dust from the paint. They were the radium girls. As the years passed, the women began to suffer from mysterious and crippling illnesses.

Great book .. terrible narration
Revisado: 05-29-19
Really good book, heartbreaking, tragic. Thankful these women endured and changed workplace safety today.
The narration is terrible. Aside from the lip smacking and robotic voice (which I could tolerate), the narrator read like an over-dramatic reading of a ghost story - it’s like I could see her eyes go wide and the flashlight shine under her face “the radium was in her BONES!”

Poor recording
Revisado: 02-19-19
Great story and good narration however, you can hear people talking in the background off-and-on throughout a great deal of the book.

Historia
Growing up with telepathic abilities, Sookie Stackhouse realized early on there were things she'd rather not know. And now that she's an adult, she also realizes that some things that she knows about, she'd rather not see—like Eric Northman feeding off another woman. A younger one. There's a thing or two she'd like to say about that, but she has to keep quiet—Felipe de Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), is in town.

I know... I read the other books
Revisado: 01-02-19
I spend about an hour of each book rolling my eyes and saying “I know, I read the other books”. I don’t need a summary description and intoroduction to each character like I haven’t read all of the other books already.

Repeats & Spit
Revisado: 12-05-17
Sure gets old how she repeats her descriptions book after book - yes, by now we know Sam is shorter but stronger than he looks - and any one of a dozen other descriptions and explanations.
And what is wrong with the narrator!? It sounds like she has a mouthful of saliva to talk around. So gross!
