This is a narrative of Mr. Keillor’s life beginning from a modest Minnesota fundamentalist family life to a hugely popular successful radio entertainer and literary talent.
The book is an interesting and enjoyable. Keillor masterfully comingles his career path and personal life in a chronology with many entertaining detailed stories experiences and thoughts along the way.
Keillor shares his feelings and interpretation of his failed marriages, choice of prioritizing work over family and friend relationships and his experience with the MeToo movement which lead to the end of his career at NPR.
But as Jane D. Nobody a listener, I couldn’t help hear a lot of explaining, defending, diverting, disengaging that went on specifically toward many of the women in his life including his mother. Keillor manages to admit falling short in his behavior only to go on to justify and explaining them away but never really taking ownership of his behavior. It became a sad redundant theme from a giant of a talent. I would have prefered if he had embraced the discomfort of silence rather than having him state his defense.

Ron Chernow delivers a robust full bodied historical account of the American Government and the life of General Grant later to become President Ulyssis Grant the 18th president of the United States of America.

If you feel fearful today about our Democracy and the outcome of the Presidential Electoral Vote in 2020 this book will quench your thirst for justice and ease your fears and concerns with every chapter you read.

Chernow is an accomplished historian who interlaces his researched details into the loom creating an artistically woven and beautifully crafted narrative.

I found the writing in The Dutch House to be verbose and redundant the narrative was simple and lacking in luster or chemistry with reader. I never felt I can't put this book down rather perhaps the next chapter may become more interesting. The climax took entirely to long to arrive and was uneventful.

I like Tom Hanks but because of his wide repertoire of movies and his distinctive familiar voice his narration became more of a distraction making my mind wonder into other characters he had played

I am sorry not to agree with the Pulitzer Prize Award this writer received for The Dutch House.

A sincere compliment I can extend is my appreciation for the specific description of the house.

I was surprised that Gloria Vanderbilt would write a books like this and hearing it read in her voice is kind of different.
It lacks something in my opinion it just falls short of good erotica.
