Great and needed information
Revisado: 11-24-24
This information is needed by so many people, most of all my skeptical friends and family. My wife and I are going through mold survival. Unfortunately, what we are dealing with is so unknown and mostly untested, it tends to promote skepticism, regardless of how many symptoms exist. Take it upon yourself to learn about what could be silently keeping you sick and killing your health and those close to you.

Historia
It is 1814 and the defeat of Napoleon seems imminent, if the well-protected city of Toulouse can be conquered. For Richard Sharpe, the battle turns out to be one of the bloodiest of the Peninsula Wars, and he must draw on his last reserves of strength to lead his troops to victory.

A believable walk
Revisado: 02-14-24
This book is believable, but somewhat tiring as his character. Cornwall is a great storyteller and seemingly keeps with history taking liberties as he must. This walk towards the end of the series seems is obviously slowing as age does us all. The dividing of relationships, dissolving of friendships, and upstarts of new ones is trained towards life’s precarious journey seemingly making Sharpe docile. In the last few books of this series the epilogues slink away into obscurity as the villains. I always hope for more gratifying details as the books of the beginning of the series. Details of the demise of those characters which Sharpe has pursued become almost empty of the details that brought us to conquest. Still a good read, but more pedestrian in the books crescendo.

What a fool!
Revisado: 02-09-24
Cornwell makes sure to keep Sharpe a rogue. Sometimes of the lowest order of rogues because Cornwell seems to keep him driven by his base appetites. The growth of Sharpe from the first book where he is trying to pick the timing to desert the King’s army, to this book where he’s now fighting to stay in the service of his king over a 19 years is pretty clever. It’s funny that he is battle hungry because he’s good at and has learned in all areas except his naïve desires for the fairer sex.

Historia
Only a year after its stunning victory at Talavera in July of 1809, Wellington's Peninsular Army, vastly outnumbered and its coffers empty, was on the brink of collapse. The Spanish government had fallen, the last Spanish armies had been crushed by the French, and all that was left were the peassants fighting the guerrilla, the "little war." But Wellington had one hope left.

The decision of a rogue
Revisado: 01-18-24
Captain Richard Sharpe, always in trouble, is generally in a bind or scrape as a result of his desire to do the right thing in the wrong way. The decision he is faced with seems to match his personal disposition towards arrogance of the aristocracy that produces his ranking officers. However, Sharpe’s rank attitude is always faithful to General Wellington(formerly named Wellsly). There wasn’t any interaction between Sharpe and Wellington at the end. The story has Cornwall’s general twists and turns, but this story was the least impressive in comparison to his previous novels of Sharpe.

Historia
Labeled variously a realistic story of whaling, a romance of unusual adventure and eccentric characters, a symbolic allegory, and a drama of heroic conflict, Moby Dick is first and foremost a great story. It has both the humor and poignancy of a simple sea ballad, as well as the depth and universality of a grand odyssey.

Impeccably written and read accordingly!
Revisado: 04-24-21
This is a captivating story that grips more tightly as the story continues. Although winding is the tale, in itself Melville is entertaining. The manner which Herman Melville puts you on the ocean in the Pequod with Ahab, but takes you along entertaining notions of jocularity with his apt descriptions is comical while at the turn of a phrase becomes maniacal shows his true genius. I have listened to this book repeatedly because of its entertaining value, but also its true picture of man’s depravity so outlined by Ahab’s desire to thwart God. Ahab is not only the Captain of his ship, but strives to be the Captain of his life in all outcomes, as he sees his own imminent failure.

Historia
Many today believe that the Christian life is rather easy to both obtain and live. But the Puritans saw it as warfare, as wrestling, as "holy violence" to use their term. The Apostle Paul spoke of beating his own body into subjection. And this holy violence is to be brought not only against one's self, but against Satan, the world, and heaven too. And in this confrontation, we must use the weapons God has given us: reading the Word, hearing the Word, prayer, meditation, self-examination, and the due observance of the Lord's Day.

The Christian life is not passive!
Revisado: 03-06-21
Watson quickly dismisses the notion of our modern day mindset that resting on our profession will push us calmly through the gates of heaven. It is by our desire to see Christ in His fullness that fuels our desire and purpose here on aimed at the gates of heaven, not that we earn the privilege, but our entry is the only thing that will quiet our soul.

Historia
Nearly 2,000 years ago, Jesus told a simple parable about a family...a father and his two sons. It was a story of rebellion, repentance, and unfathomable grace. The Parable of the Prodigal Son still stands out as a crucial lesson about our struggle with sin and dependence on divine salvation. But there is a part of this story that often goes untold. It's a message you need to hear.
