Historia
Ryan Kealey has no doubt that the forces seeking to tip this teetering world into chaos are just getting better. Better equipped, better organized, and, most terrifying of all, more patient. And despite all the ELINT, the all-seeing electronic intelligence gathered at Langley, nothing stops a devastating attack from ripping through the heart of San Antonio, Texas.

Philosophy
Revisado: 10-23-24
Too much introspection and philosophy and not enough action. Definitely not his best effort. Some insight in the inner thoughts of Ryan , our government and religious fanaticism.

Historia
In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.

Emphasis on the betrayal of due process by an egomaniac.
Revisado: 12-16-23
The repetitive statements of how the author loved our country and the belaboring of the investigation and hearings. A little too much self- aggrandizement while making feeble attempts at humility.
The book is compelling and I will recommend it to some of my Trump-loving colleagues

The more Virgil digs, the more he discovers the arrows of suspicion point in many directions, encompassing a multitude of motivations: jealousy, blackmail, greed, anger, and fear.

Predictable
Revisado: 06-02-23
Good narration, good character development, good story flow. A few surprises which always make the reading enjoyable without the reader feeling duped by crazy end of story “ got ya”

Not the usual
Revisado: 05-28-23
To much time and too many details of insignificance. Like long descriptions on Allen’s disrobing and repeating of obvious conclusions. It seems the publisher had a word minimum.
Also miss the usual narrator.

It’s the eve of 1953, and Aloysius Archer is in Los Angeles to ring in the New Year with an old friend, aspiring actress Liberty Callahan, when their evening is interrupted by an acquaintance of Callahan’s: Eleanor Lamb, a screenwriter in dire straits. After a series of increasingly chilling events—mysterious phone calls, the same blue car loitering outside her house, and a bloody knife left in her sink—Eleanor fears that her life is in danger, and she wants to hire Archer to look into the matter. Archer suspects that Eleanor knows more than she’s saying.

Long story with too many characters and too many similes. Hero was believable unlike Reacher.
