Historia
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.

This book held my attention start to finish. Loved the main character's grit and determination. Also liked learning about the Blue people of Kentucky.

Historia
For Dee Kwan, every day is the perfect day. No, really. She has a house she loves, a job she adores, and a ridiculously attractive “nemesis” who never seems to mind when she wins their favorite online game. How can life possibly get better? (It can’t, obviously. It can only get much, much worse.) Soon Dee is forced to share her adorably cozy home with her parents and estranged grandmother. Then she’s tossed into the deep end at work, tasked with cleaning up a scandal for the intimidatingly chic luxury fashion firm Celeste. If that weren’t enough, she discovers her hot nemesis works there, too.

Ethics Meets Romance
Revisado: 04-02-24
Smart nerdy awkward girl meets smart nerdy nice rich talented guy and they fall in love while fighting for ethical principles in the fashion world. Likeable characters you can relate to and root for. Would have been improved by more than 1 reader reading the major roles.

Did not hold my interest
Revisado: 02-01-24
Characters were flat, story was interesting concept but had no depth. Did not help that the voices for the various characters varied little. I got tired of hearing every little detail about what they were eating, wearing, and seeing, without getting much info on who the characters really were.

Historia
One Sunday in the spring of 1988, a woman living on a reservation in North Dakota is attacked. The details of the crime are slow to surface as Geraldine Coutts is traumatized and reluctant to relive or reveal what happened, either to the police or to her husband, Bazil, and 13-year-old son, Joe. In one day, Joe's life is irrevocably transformed. He tries to heal his mother, but she will not leave her bed and slips into an abyss of solitude. Increasingly alone, Joe finds himself thrust prematurely into an adult world for which he is ill prepared.

Great story and characters!
Revisado: 10-29-22
I really liked this series overall, especially the character development and how the reader was able to create unique voices, but by the 5th book I found myself tiring of the constant graphic violence. I even waited a few months before listening to the last book. But I love K.F.Breene's writing style!

Historia
In 1912, scientist Marie Curie spent two months on the British seaside at the home of Hertha Ayrton, an accomplished mathematician, inventor, and suffragette. At the time, Curie was in the throes of a scandal in France over her affair with Paul Langevin, which threatened to overshadow the accomplishment of her second Nobel Prize. Performed by Kate Mulgrew and Francesca Faridany at the Minetta Lane Theatre, this play by Lauren Gunderson is an ode to two remarkable women.

Historia
A growing chorus of officials and commentators argues that the Supreme Court has become too political. On this view, the confirmation process is just an exercise in partisan agenda-setting, and the jurists are no more than “politicians in robes” - their ostensibly neutral judicial philosophies mere camouflage for conservative or liberal convictions.

Original story line
Revisado: 08-17-22
I love romances with strong female characters, but they can be cookie-cutter after awhile. This one has depth to the characters, even the secondary ones, and refreshingly portrays a romance between a hunky, sensitive guy and a woman in a wheelchair who is not defined by her circumstances. Kudos to Ms Clark and Ms Lovely. I will be looking for more work by them.
