Worthy addition
Revisado: 08-25-23
As with all the books, the narration knocks it out of the ballpark. The writing is different but familiar to the original version of the book, even though there are differences.
I wonder how the inconsistencies will be smoothed over.

Good start, later falls apart
Revisado: 08-17-23
The start was pretty good, but it falls away latet, especially noticeable at chapter 17 where he somehow had the genius idea to treat an area from Poland and Hungary to Greece to Russia and Mongolia as the same. Terrible decision and shows how little he knows.

skip the first lecture
Revisado: 06-23-23
A pretty good and easily understandable series of lectures. I almost chucked it during the first lecture, however. The one sentence, tacked-on assurance at the end that "Btw this doesn't mean to ignore real harms or to excuse them" did not convince me that that was NOT *exactly* what they were getting at by saying to bear any and all adversity with patience and grace and to ignore anger that might inspire you to improve a situation if you cannot immediately see a way to solve a problem.
I found it really enraging, the way we were told to just stay calm and somehow miraculously maybe the side that is actively working to invalidate, harm and kill others will see that the side they are so much against are people too.

Historia
In this eye-opening six-part series, Dr. Franziska Kohlt looks at the concept of dreams through the lens of the stories that feature them. You’ll visit the enchanted slumbering land of Sleeping Beauty and the dark and mysterious realm of The Sandman. You’ll explore the ironic dreaming devices of Slaughterhouse-Five; the trippy, fantastical world of Alice in Wonderland; and many more on the quest to deconstruct the symbolism and intent of the dreams that are part of the narrative—or even, in some cases, that are characters in the narrative.

Big messups
Revisado: 04-26-23
Her big messup with Tantalus almost made me DNF this right at chapter one. He wasn't punished for the stealing of food, he was punished for killing and cooking his own son. Very big mistake to make, which made me think she isn't serious at all.

Good characters, interesting world
Revisado: 04-08-23
I liked this, the characters were interesting and so was the world. If I had one pickle, it would be one point in the basic premise of the world. With the supernatural being proven to exist and be powerful, I find it hard to believe only Germany of the Western powers would seek it to keep or eke out their advantage in world politics and power. It really baffled me that the rest would be so adamantly stubborn as to not even consider exploiting this new avenue to keep their imperial relevance.

As Ferguson, Missouri, erupted in August 2014 and media commentators across the ideological spectrum referred to the angry response of African Americans as 'Black rage', historian Carol Anderson wrote a remarkable op-ed in the Washington Post showing that this was, instead, 'white rage at work. With so much attention on the flames,' she wrote, 'everyone had ignored the kindling.'

According to polls conducted by Gallup and the Pew Research Forum on Religion & Public Life, the majority of Americans fail basic tests about religion, including tests on their own faith. This is troublesome because religious literacy is about so much more than naming deities or knowing the stories of ancient history. For many of us, religion is a way to examine and understand ourselves. These 24 enlightening lectures offer you the chance to experience the world's religions from all angles – historical, theological, and cultural.
