Beautifully told story and excellent narration
Revisado: 02-21-24
I read this after reading the book about Marjorie Merriweather Post. At first I didn't like it, but I assure you give it time and the book is one of the best books you will every read. The brilliance in following Desiree's life (as opposed to Napoleon or Josephine) is remarkable! Also, the narrator makes it a great choice because the narration is fantastic. A++++++++++ rating!

Historia
Mrs. Post, the President and First Lady are here to see you. . . . So begins another average evening for Marjorie Merriweather Post. Presidents have come and gone, but she has hosted them all. Growing up in the modest farmlands of Battle Creek, Michigan, Marjorie was inspired by a few simple rules: always think for yourself, never take success for granted, and work hard—even when deemed American royalty, even while covered in imperial diamonds.

Revisado: 09-28-23
One of the best books that I have ever read, and one of the best narrators that I have listened to. A great story skillfully told. It grabbed me from the minute I started listening. If every book could only be so good. It left me wanting to know so much more about Ann Lowe and I'm sorry I didn't know about her before. Everyone should know about Ann Lowe, what a great lady!

Revisado: 08-31-23
The story was very compelling. At a certain point I couldn’t stop listening because I had to finish the book and find out what happened. At times, it was really hard to hear what they went through and I almost wished I hadn’t read it. In the end, I was glad I did though.

Historia
In the spring of 2006, a new kind of show premiered on Bravo: The Real Housewives of Orange County. Its stars were tanned, taut, and bedazzled; their homes were echoey California villas; and their drama was gossip-fueled, wine-drenched, and absolutely exquisite. Fifteen seasons on, RHOC is an institution, along with The Real Housewives of New York, Atlanta, New Jersey, Miami, Potomac, and more.

Loved it
Revisado: 10-23-21
I loved everything about it. The things that some people complained about - like reviewing the past was fun. I see him not being able to talk to the Housewives as a plus -
he could have sold out and talked to them and the book would have been more packaged crap from Bravo - he is real and the book is better for him not having sold out.

The book and the movie were about equally as good. The book ended a little abruptly - where the movie had more of a conclusion.

Mary Mallon was a courageous, headstrong Irish immigrant woman who bravely came to America alone, fought hard to climb up from the lowest rung of the domestic service ladder, and discovered in herself an uncanny, and coveted, talent for cooking. Working in the kitchens of the upper class, she left a trail of disease in her wake, until one enterprising and ruthless "medical engineer" proposed the inconceivable notion of the "asymptomatic carrier" - and from then on Mary Mallon was a hunted woman.

Buy the book now and read it
Revisado: 01-06-20
My mother had been bugging me to read this book forever. I finally bought it, and was kicking myself for not having bought it before. The narrator is great, which if you listen to a lot of audio books, you know is important. At first I thought, what else could there be to this story? We all know she carries typhoid and they locked her up. There is so much more to the story. It's really good. Buy the book, you won't be sorry.

Really great book - buy it!
Revisado: 08-25-17
Where does I'm Your Biggest Fan rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I don't write many reviews about books, but I was so surprised at how much I enjoyed this book that I thought I would give it an A+
What did you like best about this story?
I was looking for pure entertainment - and I got that and a very sincere and funny author!
What does Kate Coyne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
When you think about Hollywood and entertainment, you think skinny women.... Think "The Devil Wears Prada"..... Kate Coyne is the opposite - she loves to eat and doesn't wear Prada
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
I interview the rich and famous who wear Prada... but I love to eat BACON!
Any additional comments?
buy it! it's a fun read!
