Historia
Emma Gatewood told her family she was going on a walk and left her small Ohio hometown with a change of clothes and less than $200. The next anybody heard from her, this genteel, farm-reared, 67-year-old great-grandmother had walked 800 miles along the 2,050-mile Appalachian Trail. And in September 1955, atop Maine's Mount Katahdin, she sang the first verse of "America, the Beautiful" and proclaimed, "I said I'll do it, and I've done it."

Wonderful Story
Revisado: 11-01-23
This is a fascinating tale that combines both the “present” story of Gatewood’s 1st thru-hike experience and stories of her earlier life and what was going on in America at the time. I thought it was a well-rounded story.

Fantastic and Engaging
Revisado: 10-08-23
I loved it! I’m an active listener and I loved the journey this took me on. There were many times where I had to rewind to listen to a part again because it boggled my mind, and then times where I had to pause it to just take in what was being said. Big time numbers, like millions of years and billions of years, is almost inconceivable, so listening through this whole book blew my mind in the best way possible

Historia
Few entrepreneurs can claim to have radically changed the way we live, and Ray Kroc is one of them. His revolutions in food-service automation, franchising, shared national training, and advertising have earned him a place beside the men and women who have founded not only businesses, but entire empires. But even more interesting than Ray Kroc the business man is Ray Kroc the man. Not your typical self-made tycoon, Kroc was 52 years old when he opened his first franchise.

A Pretty Good Inside Look at McDonalds
Revisado: 06-04-23
This is good story behind how McDonalds came to be, as it gives you an in-depth look at what all happened, when it happened, and how it happened. Lots of good business insight as well for those who like business books.
