Historia
Language defines us as a species, placing humans head and shoulders above even the most proficient animal communicators. But it also beguiles us with its endless mysteries, allowing us to ponder why different languages emerged, why there isn't simply a single language, how languages change over time and whether that's good or bad, and how languages die out and become extinct.

Loving this so much
Revisado: 10-19-22
For a topic that I thought might be terribly dry, it is BRILLIANT. The narrator (professor) has a tremendously attractive, enticing and engrossing way of delivering lectures. I could foresee myself be interested in learning anything he teaches. Lovely!!

Historia
In this classic account of madness, Michel Foucault shows once and for all why he is one of the most distinguished European philosophers since the end of World War II. Madness and Civilization, Foucault's first book and his finest accomplishment, will change the way in which you think about society. Evoking shock, pity, and fascination, it might also make you question the way you think about yourself.

Hard, but amazing
Revisado: 10-16-22
As expected, this work is confounding and stunning. I always believed in exactly this theory, but having a master immortalizing the concept/theory was stupendous.

Historia
Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

Historia
The Bhagavad Gita, "The Song of the Lord", is the best known of all the Indian scriptures, and Easwaran's reliable and accessible version has consistently been the best-selling translation. Easwaran's introduction places the Gita in its historical setting and brings out the universality and timelessness of its teachings. Chapter introductions give clear explanations of key concepts in that chapter.

Some odd parts
Revisado: 10-16-22
Why the narrator chooses to go into a fake / weird Indian accent at times over the narration - I have no idea.. it seemed a tad like mockery.. otherwise, it was ok
