Historia
When editor Susan Ryeland is given the manuscript of Alan Conway's latest novel, she has no reason to think it will be much different from any of his others. After working with the best-selling crime writer for years, she's intimately familiar with his detective, Atticus Pünd, who solves mysteries disturbing sleepy English villages. An homage to queens of classic British crime such as Agatha Christie and Dorothy Sayers, Alan's traditional formula has proved hugely successful.

Very boring plot
Revisado: 02-16-25
Everyone was giving this book great reviews, but i think it was very long and drawn out. The plot is very unrealistic which makes it even worse. Do not waste your money buying it.

Historia
On an ordinary Monday morning, Ariel Cafferty's phone buzzes with a disturbing text message. Something’s happened. I need to see you. Meet me under the candelabra tree ASAP. The words would be jarring from anyone, but the sender is the only man she ever loved. And it's been several years since she learned he died. Seeing Drew’s name pop up is heart-stopping. Ariel’s gut says it can’t be real. But she goes to the tree anyway. She has to. Nobody shows.

You better like Shakespeare
Revisado: 10-01-24
I read mixed reviews about this book before listening to it. It starts out slow in the beginning and I almost gave up. Shakespeare is boring to me, olde English dialog is like nails on a chalkboard, and there is a lot of it.
After the murder it picked up but was still boring. It was more focused on the plays then the storyline plot.
I wouldn't recommend this book

wow...I only got through chapter 8 before I had to shut it off completely. They story line is so dumb, the narration is awful - sounds like the male voice is talking with a head cold.

I could not get into this book.
Revisado: 08-05-24
I listen to the morbid podcast, I read and listen to numerous murder/thriller/suspense books but I couldn't get into this book. It just seemed like several other books and didn't have any realistic appeal to me. I will try to listen to this book again in the future.

Historia
They say that all men are created equal. Well, that’s a blatant lie! I know, because I met God's gift to women in Vegas; I pretended he was my husband to get rid of another man. He took our fake marriage seriously, and it became his personal goal to consummate. He spoke to me in French, and I lied to him in German. His laughter was addictive. But I thought what happens in Vegas would stay in Vegas. Until it didn't.

How many adjectives can the Author use?
Revisado: 12-05-22
this book has a nice plot and the actors play it nicely, but the 'secret' is really lame and very stupidly hidden.
The author uses so many adjectives in every other sentence it was starting to get annoying. I'm really surprised the publisher didn't cut 70% of them out.

Historia
Time changes everything. So you want to know what happened to Anna and Julian? Well, listen up, because I've got the whole scoop. I'm Jules, btw, and I am an artist, as you already know if you've read or heard Watercolor. What you might not know is I inherited my mother's cute little newsy nose, thank you very much. It's high school reunion time, and everyone's coming back to Fairview - everyone who's not already there, mind you. What went wrong, whose fault it was, and why the heck nobody knew about me... It's all coming out.

did the author forget what was going on?
Revisado: 11-15-22
the book starts out that the daughter finds her mother's college blog on a zip drive and reads it. That's what the first half of the book is, but it is told in dialog. it's a very dumb set up. the daughter also interrupts the dialog when there is a sex scene, because it's just gross to read that part.
I just got so irritated that the blog was written in dialog, that I could t finish the book.
