The plot of this book is more about the personality. foibles of the main character rather than the actual mystery. The mystery becomes secondary and the solution is completely out of left field. It doesn't mesh with any other part of the plot. The narration as expected is very good but it just can't save this book

Sweet but flat

I don't know how to review this. It's a sweet storyline where the good side wins, your heart smiles, but your mind wonders how it can listen to anymore. I felt more like I was in a Composition 101 or Introduction to Writing Dialog class than a cute fictional gulf side town.

A Dismal end

the problem with any author using a love triangel is that at some point a reader will be deeply disappointed. This book is the disappointment. Also, the narration was not enjoyable, the past narrator was much better. End of the road for this reader.

Entertaining and enjoyable

It's nice to find a true cozy mystery with no underlying agendas, paranormal or super annoying characters. Old school saves the day!

Money obviously doesn't guarantee effecti therapy

I couldn't finish this. It wasn't his struggle with addiction that was too painful to listen to, it was his self-absorbed, I'm going to blame everyone and shirk any responsibility attitude that was untenable.

At one point he stated that he had spent millions on therapy and all I could think was "not with effective therapists". There are people who have battled their way out of the opioid addiction with medicaid coverage who are doing much better than Mr. Perry. I work with them everyday.

I couldn't finish it. I hope his recovery isn't finished either. I also hope the response to this book doesn't trigger a relapse because the truthful reviews aren't going to be Hollywood created versions of PR spin.

I wanted to like this. I wanted him to be okay. I'll take a bad book but a positive outcome for him anyway.

A must read!

A transformative book for society. I didn't think he could follow up as powerfully with a second book about the opioid epidemic but I was wrong. Please, get this book then take action on what it teaches you.

Great book, terrible ending

Narration was great. Story was great and in line with what I've come to expect from this author. The ending was not fair to readers. We invest a lot of time into books so be considerate of that. Your tense, artistic ending is our let down. Glad I listened but I'm off this author for quite some time to come.

Generally very enjoyable

Finally, a heroine who has spunk but the author doesn't push any views too heavily upon the reader. I look forward to reading more work by this author.

This series deserved a better final endin

I loved the 1st 2 books in this series and was series it was excited to finish the trilogy. It was such a disappointment. These characters deserved a better ending. There was a lot of action but no depth that usually comes with these novels. The plot was not very original. It was so predictable. I struggled to finish this and even skipped over about 12 chapters there's because they weren't necessary, I'm sure many people will like this book but as far as this author goes it felt disappointing to me.

This was terrible! I really tried to make it through but deleted it. Cheesy plot, no real content and terrible accents. All around a bad investment of time.
