Nice conclusion to a great series.
I would love to see these books turned into a television series, they definitely have the legs for it.

From the acclaimed authors of the runaway New York Times bestseller 2034 comes another explosive work of speculative fiction set twenty years further in the future, at a moment when a radical leap forward in artificial intelligence combines with America’s violent partisan divide to create an existential threat to the country, and the world.

Not as good as it predecessor
Revisado: 05-14-24
It wasn't a bad book, but it does not compare to 2034.
The story was OK, but not overly interesting.
It seemed like they were intentionally leaving some loose ends for a subsequent novel.
Oddly, some voice acting was kind of annoying. e.g. end statements in the upward pitch of a question.
Which is kind of weird, because I think it was the same narrates from 2034 (that didn't have that issue).

Doesn’t disappoint
Revisado: 02-19-24
Adairs’s clearly the modern apocalypse master. This book is right up his alley. It is was an easy listen and very enjoyable. A note of caution, if you hand strong feelings about the need for Covid compliance, this book may strike you the wrong way. But bear in mind, this is a work of fiction. It’s no threat to anyone’s political alignment

Historia
At first, Logan Ramsay isn’t sure if anything’s different. He just feels a little . . . sharper. Better able to concentrate. Better at multitasking. Reading a bit faster, memorizing better, needing less sleep. But before long, he can’t deny it: Something’s happening to his brain. To his body. He’s starting to see the world, and those around him—even those he loves most—in whole new ways. The truth is, Logan’s genome has been hacked. And there’s a reason he’s been targeted for this upgrade.

Excellent story, easily visualized
Revisado: 02-06-24
The descriptive writing really hits the sweet spot. The author paints the environment so well, I felt like I was watching a movie. There was just the right amount of detail to show what was going on, without stifling the fast, action-packed pace.

Few know the warship’s actual name. But everyone has heard the rumors. The PUV James Keeling can do something no other vessel in existence can do—slip into another dimension, travel undetected, then re-emerge onto our plane and surprise enemy targets. But the thing that makes the Crypt unique also makes it a nightmare for those onboard; interdimensional travel causes hallucinations, violent behavior, and psychotic breakdowns. Keeling could be the Union’s greatest weapon, a game-changing asset that can defeat the bloodthirsty zealots of the Purist Nation, the Union’s mortal enemy.

Good but too much repetition
Revisado: 02-06-24
Scott Sigler is, in my opinion, the best horror science fiction author of the modern age, and I will purchase the additional books in this series. But this book had way too much repetition in setting the scene. It was very tedious to hear the same thing over & over again about the unique aspect of the environment, with little storytelling mixed in.
Honestly, at one point, I wondered if the author was trying to reach a word count.

Sad to see the series come to an end. But, the authors did a great job of wrapping it up, staying withing the lines or the character's traits.

The TV series seems to borrow little from the novel, thankfully. I really don’t know how this falls into the “classic” category.

Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.

Not for younger kids
Revisado: 02-20-18
Not a bad book for teens, but the “gender” topics presented are NOT for kids that haven’t been educated on transgender / homosexual topics.
The author introduced a trans character in the last book, but this book took it a bit further with a relationship.
