Historia
In virtually every way that can be measured, Gen Z’s mental health is worse than that of previous generations. Youth suicide rates are climbing, antidepressant prescriptions for children are common, and the proliferation of mental health diagnoses has not helped the staggering number of kids who are lonely, lost, sad and fearful of growing up. What’s gone wrong with America’s youth? In Bad Therapy, bestselling investigative journalist Abigail Shrier argues that the problem isn’t the kids—it’s the mental health experts.

Required reading for any parent or child
Revisado: 03-13-24
The author clearly lays out the mismatch in incentives between therapists and their clients. Young minds are suggestable and easily steered by incompetent and/or malign professionals. She points out the increase in poor mental health in the west despite the greater use of psychotherapy.

Simple, practical steps and rules
Revisado: 09-03-22
The author provides simple practical steps and guidance to improvement, but don't mistake simple for easy, as the author explains through examples from his clinical experience. A process of escalating goals, that start from the mundane are combined with simple rules to help you overcome disappointment and learn from past failures in a helpful way. The comptetant can make desirable outcomes look easy, so don't be fooled. The way to build competence is practice
A maxim that came through to me from reading and listening to this book book was; don't expect others to give you what you won't give yourself and others.

Historia
In 2012, on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, an improvised explosive device left Dan Crenshaw's right eye destroyed and his left blinded. Only through the careful hand of his surgeons, and what doctors called a miracle, did Crenshaw's left eye recover partial vision. And yet, he persevered, completing two more deployments. Why? There are certain stories we tell ourselves about the hardships we face—we can become paralyzed by adversity or we can adapt and overcome. We can be fragile or we can find our fortitude. Crenshaw delivers a set of lessons to help you do just that.

The best podcast on rap I've ever heard
Revisado: 02-21-22
I came for the rap and stayed for the wrap-up on finance. I have to write some words though, I'm renowned for my terse and accurate reviews and generally frown on loquaciousness and unneeded repetition or verbosity. I can only hope the fans of my reviews don't cancel me for being so off-brand in this review.
