Historia
Jubal Sackett’s urge to explore drove him westward, and when a Natchez priest asks him to undertake a nearly impossible quest, Sackett ventures into the endless grassy plains the Indians call the Far Seeing Lands. He seeks a Natchez exploration party and its leader, Itchakomi. It is she who will rule her people when their aging chief dies, but first she must vanquish her rival, the arrogant warrior Kapata. Sackett’s quest will bring him danger from an implacable enemy...and show him a life - and a woman - worth dying for.

What historical fiction should be
Revisado: 05-12-11
My father exposed me to L'Amour when I was a child. Dad's favorites where Westerns like Hondo. I was aware of the Sackett saga, but hadn't really got into them until Audible. If you find Curless difficult give him a chance through a few chapters. The narrator of these stories shouldn't sound like John Wayne. Jonn Curless it spot on. What can you say about L'Amour he was a master story teller and the The Sacketts is his masterpiece. I have listened to over 65 titles of various genere, but this is one of the rare ones I will listen to again.

When I first downloaded the book I stop listening after a few minutes. The narrator's accent was hard to get use to along with the manner of speech which fits the period. However, I gave the book another try and loved it. Amilia is a character I would like to read or listen more of. A women with modern sense in the darkest time in history. Brilliant!

Interesting Historical perspective
Revisado: 02-24-10
I have read other reviews which suggest just reading the book of Mark, but I found the Roman perspective interesting. Even though this is a work of Historical Fiction the author did his due dilagence. Good quick listen for any modern day Christian looking to gain some historica perspective. James Adams does a great job.

I've seen the commercials for the T.V. show, but never watched it. Also I knew nothing of Goodkind or this series before I downloaded the book, I just liked the synopsis. I thought it would be a good story. All I can say is wow. The depth of the characters and the twist of the plot make this 34hr. reading fly by. I am hooked on the story line, and am glad I have found a story to follow from month to month until the next Fate of the Jedi is released. I have downloaded about 30 books over the past year from several different genres of fiction. This is hands down in my top 3. Don't be intimidated by the length. Try it out for one credit it is worth it.

A great epic western from the master Zane Grey
Revisado: 01-13-10
If you are a lover of Historical Fiction as I am I would highly recommend this title. Great plot and character development. Plus it answers questions you may have had after Riders of the Purple Sage. Michael Prichard is great. One ofthe few titles I have chosen to give 5*.

Historia
Every so often a character so captures the hearts and imaginations of listeners that he seems to take on a life of his own long after the final chapter. For such a character, one book is not enough—listeners must know what happens next. Now Dean Koontz returns with the novel his fans have been demanding. With the emotional power and sheer storytelling artistry that are his trademarks, Koontz takes up once more the story of a unique young hero and an eccentric little town in a tale that is equal parts suspense and terror, adventure and mystery—and altogether irresistibly odd.

Odd Sequel
Revisado: 10-26-09
It is hard for a second book to continue a storyline and give you new stuff from character that you know. I think Koontz pulls it off. Forever Odd is good all on its own. If you haven't read or listened to the first book(I don't know why you haven't)you can pick up the series starting with this book without missing a beat. Most reviews will tell you that it wasn't as good as the first book, but what second anything ever is. If things had started with this book reviews would be just as glowing. Original potline, original new characters, and a good character evolution to Odd.

What good fiction can be!
Revisado: 10-26-09
Odd Thomas is a character you care about. His Pico Mundo friends are people that you can identify with, and Koontz weaves a story better than anything on tv or at the movies. A very cool story with an ending that makes you want to read or download Forever Odd immediately.

Historia
Year after year, Rafe Esquith's fifth-grade students excel. They read passionately, far above their grade level; tackle algebra; and stage Shakespeare so professionally that they often wow the great Shakespearen actor himself, Sir Ian McKellen. Yet Esquith teaches at an L.A. inner city school known as the Jungle, where few of his students speak English at home, and many are from poor or troubled families. What's his winning recipe? A diet of intensive learning mixed with a lot of kindness and fun.

Rafe proves all children can achieve!!
Revisado: 10-19-09
If you have a child in your life you care about you need to give this one a listen. Not just a howto it was very entertaining. Rafe is not a "rah-rah" guy, but a realist who talks as much about his mistakes as his succeeses. Only knock on this audiobook is that the breaks don't line up with the endings of chapters. I like to follow along at times, so that is annoying to me. I rarely give 5stars, this one was close.

Historia
Jonathan Barnes, a shining new talent in the UK, intrigues listeners with his "wonderfully original concoction[s] of grotesque humour and sparkling prose" ( Guardian) - providing a literary "cabinet stuffed with curiosities" ( Observer). In The Domino Men, an ordinary office-working Brit discovers that he may be destined to wipe out the wicked House of Windsor.

A macabre decent story
Revisado: 10-19-09
This is the first book I have been exposed to from J.Barnes. So, I can't compare it to his other work. Evaluating The Domino Men on it's own I would have to say that it started off really strong. By the end of the first part I was really hooked, but the last few hours of the second part lost momentum and seemed to drag. The only other complaint that I have is that Barnes goes above and beyond to tie all loose plot strings by the end of the book, but never explains why the two characters are called the Domino Men. You are left only to assume. Morbid humor, characters with blunt human flaws, a conspiricy thriller worth a listen.

Revisado: 06-26-09
If they ever think about making movies out of another series in the Star Wars universe this may be the one to choose. Bottom line, narration is great, sound effects add depth, and storyline kept my interest from beginning to end. I am looking forward to listening to Outcast.
