Love these books!
Revisado: 03-15-19
I have listened to all the DCI Ryan books and thoroughly enjoyed them including this one. They are set in my part of the world which gives them added value. JL Ross has developed the main characters very well and the books are gripping and unputdownable.I would recommend that they be read in order. Also the narrator is excellent which as we all
know can make or break an audible book no matter how good the writing.

I wish I had read Dick Francis sooner!!!
Revisado: 10-11-18
I have come very late in life to read Dick Francis books. I was convinced I wouldn’t enjoy them as I have no interest in Horse racing. How wrong can you be. His books are great thrillers that encompass so much more than horse racing. Each book delves deeply into another world for example the wine trade,Investment banking or photography. So you always come away learning something. His heroes are likable usually finding themselves thrown in at the deep end. What I really admire is the strong female characters in his books. Always intelligent and independent and contribute to solving the crime or problem. Dick Francis obviously liked women and had great respect for them which is even more admirable when you think that some of his books were written in the 60’s and 70’s when women were not always treated this way by authors. The main thing is the books are gripping and entertaining and Simon Prebble reads them beautifully. So don’t be like me and wait years to start enjoying them!

wow! Loved this book
Revisado: 09-29-18
I have so enjoyed this series but I think this has been the best yet.Firstly Robert Glenister does a wonderful job as narrator. This book had so many twists and turns. It is long, which I like, with murder, a recollection of murder from long ago , intrigue in the House of Coommons and among the higher echelons of British society. Also Robin's story is moved along quite A bit.A great read can't wait for the next one

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reunite as FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, joining an ensemble of original cast members in an out-of-this-world production.

Revisado: 08-17-18
I love these books by Paul Finch they are a bit gruesome in places but so well written and fast paced that they are a joy to listen to especially as the narrator Paul Tornley is perfect, he is DS " Heck " Heckenburg and he does a great job with all the other characters. No spoilers but this book ended on a huge cliffhanger hence "What will happen next" can't wait to find out so hurry up Paul Finch!

There are dangers and adventures in the graveyard for a boy. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, then he will come under attack from the man Jack - who has already killed Bod's family…

Revisado: 08-15-18
I love Neil Gaiman's books but had not read this one.Don't be put of by the YA catagorie this book is for everyone. The ensemble cast of narrators was excellent they really took you into the graveyard and the cast of characters is wonderfully drawn. I did not want it to end! and kept thinking of Bod I hope Mr Gaiman may write a sequel. By the way there is a discription by the author of how he came to write the book included.

A new discovery !
Revisado: 08-14-18
Of course I new all about Dick Francis for years but was never tempted to read his books. I had teconceived ideas I suppose. Thrillers about horse racing were not my cup of tea at all I like murder mysteries, police procedural etc. How wrong I was. I read the first book in this series ( this is the second one) because it was on sale and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I was so wrong there is murder and mystery a fantastic hero who is sensitive and a winning jockey. Simon prebble is the most amazing narrator and I did learn a lot about horse racing which may come in handy in another life! I was surprised at how beautifully Dick Francis writes and I appreciate the depth and understanding he gives his female characters he obviously likes women and admires there strength not something you always come across in thrillers . Read “Break in “ First.

Historia
When Greta Helsing, doctor to the undead, is unexpectedly called to Paris to present at a medical conference, she expects nothing more exciting than professional discourse on zombie reconstructive surgery and skin disease in bogeymen - and hopefully at least one uneventful night at the Opera. Unfortunately for Greta, Paris happens to be infested with a coven of vampires - and not the civilized kind. If she hopes to survive, Greta must navigate the darkest corners of the City of Lights, the maze of ancient catacombs and mine-tunnels underneath the streets.

This author writes beautifully
Revisado: 08-05-18
I loved the first book in the series and this second installment is even better. The Author although the book is set in modern times uses a Victorian kind of dialogue, I can't think of a better way to put it, but it helps a lot of the other characters in the book are over 100 years old . The narration was excellent.
