Another great book in the series

I love this series! It is unlike anything else I have ever read. Joe Cosentino has a unique style that combines hysterical humor, heartfelt emotion, and an intriguing mystery plot. Nicky and Noah (now married) direct a luau show in Hawaii. Dancers drop like flies as the two amateur sleuths go through their crazy antics to solve the case. This story is the most heartfelt so far with the introduction of Taavi. Like the others, this book can be read as a stand-alone, but it is more fun to read (or listen to) the series in order and follow the growth of the main characters. Griswold Addams expertly captures the humor, the characters, and the narrative. The previous narrators have all been good, but he is my favorite so far.

Wonderful Fantasy Adventure

While this is the second book in a series, it can be read/listened-to as a stand-alone. There are two fantasy stories that intersect, all with dragons, magical worlds, and high stakes adventure. I really enjoyed the characters, the humor, and the plot which was full of twists and turns. The narrator does a great job at bringing each character uniquely to life and dramatizing the story. It is a long book, but it kept my interest throughout and did not lag. I would highly recommend this audiobook to anyone who enjoys fantasy, adventure, and dragons.

A Gay Fantasy Island

Joe Cosentino has created a gay fantasy island on the Jersey shore. Every summer, gay men from all walks of life vacation in Cal Cozzi’s bungalows for fun, romance, and self-discovery. Cozzi Cove has a magical influence on all the guests, and even on Cal himself. This book is full of humor, love, intrigue, and fantasy. I felt like I had an enchanting vacation on the beautiful beach that is Cozzi Cove. Chase Johnson did a good job at bringing the story to life.

Zany mystery with a heart

Another fun book in the series! We follow the third adventure of now-fiances Nicky and Noah as they direct a murder mystery show on a cruise ship, and life imitates art as actors start dropping like flies. Joe Cosentino has not only crafted a fascinating murder mystery with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end, but also a laugh riot and a side of romance. Cosentino has a unique style that is different than anything else I have read. The book is full of hysterical one-liners, quirky characters, and off-beat situations, really pushing the envelope, yet never becoming cartoon-ish. The funniest parts are with Nicky and Noah's parents, who have surprised them by booking passage on the cruise. This is a great third book in the series. Brad Enright does a great job at bringing the characters to life and moving the story along.

Fun mystery that will keep you listening

I loved this book when I read it, and loved it even more when listening to it with Chip Hurley's narration.

Joe Cosentino has such a unique and refreshing way of melding interesting characters, hysterical humor, and an intriguing mystery plot. It is over-the-top farce, yet grounded enough to make you care about the people and the situation. Settled in their relationship (or are they?), Nicky and Noah now try to solve the mystery of who is murdering the students and faculty in the PE department. Nicky is directing the body building competition, giving it an air of theatricality, and one by one, the cast keeps shrinking (and so does the faculty). My favorite characters were Noah's parents, who are hysterical. The mystery plot really adds up to a satisfying ending. Though I didn't guess it until very close to the end, the clues were all there -- just cleverly disguised with misdirection.

Chip Hurley does a masterful job at creating the colorful cast of characters, and capturing the humor in the story. It really brings the book to life. I didn't want to put it down!

Fun mystery, full of wit, humor and romance

What a fun book! Joe Cosentino sees the world through a fun house mirror, pushing the edge of reality, yet still creating characters with a real emotional core, and writing a mystery plot line that will keep you guessing till the end.

Taking place in the Theater Department of a small New England college, with diverse and colorful personalities of faculty and students, this book keeps moving at a fast pace. The writing is clever, succinct, absorbing, and full of surprises. Nicky and Noah find their colleagues keeling over dead one by one, and need to find who done it before one of them becomes the next victim. We find out lots of secrets in addition to who is the murderer.

I found myself rooting for Nicky & Noah’s budding romance, intrigued with trying to solve the mystery, and laughing out loud at the antics in this book. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

The narrator, Michale Gilboe, does a fine job at capturing the wit and sarcasm in the writing, moving the story along at a nice pace, and creating fun and identifiable character voices.

Sweet and stimulating

This was a sweet coming out story that was also tender and erotic. You really get to like the two main characters. The story skillfully avoids the cliche that it could have so easily fallen into. The sex comes from the characters and situation and is not artificially forced onto the story. The narrator gives a real naturalness to the first person narration, and you feel like he is a real person telling you his story. He does a nice job distinguishing the other voices as well. His emotional content is full of nuances. I enjoyed listening to this story and hope to hear more by this author and from this narrator.

Eerie and Creepy

I love Jonathan Maberry, and saw that he wrote the introduction to this book, so I had to give it a listen. I was not disappointed. There are 9 horror stories of all different styles -- some disturbing, some creepy, some funny -- but all enjoyable, and nice to have the variety. I especially liked many of the unexpected twists. I will be looking for more from these authors.The narrator’s skills matched the diversity of the stories. He was able to present a wide range of styles, accents, and voices, each befitting the story. His voice was clear and easy to listen to. This is a great book for Halloween or any time of the year.

Another thrilling listen!

Book 2 continues on a roller coaster ride of an adventure with ore fascinating creatures, characters, and surprises -- plus a mystery ensues. Fred Wolinsky's narration is top notch, just like the first book. The book really comes to life. I can't wait until the third book is out!

A thrilling story skillfully narrated

Tim O'Rourke creates captivating characters, a fascinating new world, and a thrilling adventure story. He grabs you from the first moment, and takes you on a journey full of fun and exciting twists and turns. The book is brilliantly brought to life by narrator Fred Wolinsky. Each character has a unique voice and personality. His reading is full of passion and emotion, and you feel like the story is happening right before your eyes. I can't wait to hear the next two books of the trilogy!
