The ending somewhat redeemed it, but it was mostly boring and cringe at times. I wasn’t a fan of the lead character so it was hard to get through. I also wanted to shake her sometimes for all the dumb things she kept doing.

Narrator is worth the read!
Revisado: 10-29-24
Loved this narrator so much. She makes you love her character. She also narrated apples never fall and was sooo good. Story was great-dragged a bit in the middle, but the ending was worth it. I really liked it. Interesting concept as usual from Moriarty.

Revisado: 10-29-24
I am a huge Lisa jewell fan so it wasn’t what I was used to. It was still interesting, but I wouldn’t read it again. I am impressed at how she wrote in a totally different style and genre though. It just wasn’t my favorite.

Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Heartbreakingly beautiful story!
Revisado: 05-03-24
I loved the way this was written from a boy’s perspective! I laughed out loud so many times. Part of it was hard to read when it came to foster care, pharmaceuticals, and poverty, but it was worth it in the end. Such a beautiful story with so many wonderful characters to love. And the narrator was the best I’ve ever heard!

Historia
In the early hours of a summer morning, a young woman steps into the path of an oncoming bus. A tragic accident? Or suicide? At the center of this puzzle is Adrian Wolfe, a successful architect and grief-stricken widower, who, a year after his third wife's death, begins to investigate the cause. As Adrian looks back on their brief but seemingly happy marriage, disturbing secrets begin to surface. The divorces from his two previous wives had been amicable, or so it seemed; his children, all five of them, were resilient as ever, or so he thought.

Historia
Early one morning on the shore of the Thames, DCI Samuel Owusu is called to the scene of a gruesome discovery. When Owusu sends the evidence for examination, he learns the bones are connected to a cold case that left three people dead on the kitchen floor in a Chelsea mansion thirty years ago. Rachel Rimmer has also received a shock—her husband, Michael, has been found dead in the cellar of his house in France. All signs point to an intruder, and the French police need her to come urgently to answer questions about Michael and his past that she very much doesn’t want to answer.
