Historia
In Build a Business You Love, #1 New York Times bestselling author and Ramsey Solutions Founder and CEO, Dave Ramsey breaks down the system that took his business from a card table in his living room to a $250 million operation. Business leaders face all kinds of challenges and fears as they work to grow their business. Dave Ramsey gets it—because he’s been there. Over the past 30 years, he and his team have taken some right (and plenty of wrong) turns as they worked to build his one-man financial counseling business into Ramsey Solutions, a $250 million company with over 1,000 team members.

Historia
In Alexander the Great, Anthony Everitt judges Alexander’s life against the criteria of his own age and considers all his contradictions. We meet the Macedonian prince who was naturally inquisitive and fascinated by science and exploration, as well as the man who enjoyed the arts and used Homer’s great epic, the Iliad, as a bible. As his empire grew, Alexander exhibited respect for the traditions of his new subjects and careful judgment in administering rule over his vast territory. But his career also had a dark side.

Historia
One of America’s greatest success stories is its economy. For over a century, it has been the envy of the world. The opportunity it generates has inspired millions of people to want to become American. Today, however, America’s economy is at a crossroads. Across the political spectrum, many want the government to play an even greater role in the economy via protectionism, stakeholder capitalism, or even quasi-socialist policies. But managed decline and creeping statism do not have to be America’s only choices, let alone its destiny. This audiobook insists there is an alternative.

A worthwhile read. The author uses a great mix of contemporary and historical facts and philosophy about economics to make a strong argument for free markets and the benefits they bring.

Where Flynne and her brother, Burton, live, jobs outside the drug business are rare. Fortunately, Burton has his veteran's benefits, for neural damage he suffered from implants during his time in the USMC's elite Haptic Recon force. Then one night Burton has to go out, but there's a job he's supposed to do - a job Flynne didn't know he had. Beta-testing part of a new game, he tells her.

Another woke story line
Revisado: 12-18-22
Got this book because the Amazon series was interesting, but too confusing to follow and I thought the book would add clarity to the plot. It really didn’t add much though, there are people groups completely undeveloped, nonsensical technologies and under developed characters all woven into a woke world view of environmental dystopia and gender fluidity. I don’t recommend.

Historia
In The War on the West, Douglas Murray shows how many well-meaning people have been fooled by hypocritical and inconsistent anti-West rhetoric. After all, if we must discard the ideas of Kant, Hume, and Mill for their opinions on race, shouldn’t we discard Marx, whose work is peppered with racial slurs and anti-Semitism? Embers of racism remain to be stamped out in America, but what about the raging racist inferno in the Middle East and Asia?

Especially if you consider yourself a “liberal” or progressive thinker. This book is well balanced with detailed supporting examples. I believe many Americans are simply unaware of the depths of misdirection coming out of our universities, political leaders and entertainers. Take a few hours and listen, you might just discover that you are on the wrong side of the debate.

Historia
Rich Dad Poor Dad is Robert's story of growing up with two dads - his real father and the father of his best friend, his rich dad - and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you. In the 20th anniversary edition of this classic, Robert offers an update on what we’ve seen over the past 20 years related to money, investing, and the global economy.

This was a great book on many levels. For an audio book it flows well and has a recap of each chapter that is helpful to re-enforce key concepts. The reader does a great job. The content is helpful and easy to follow along with. Highly recommended.

Historia
With every argument for theism long since discredited, the result is that atheism has become little more than the noises reasonable people make in the presence of unjustified religious beliefs. Thus, engaging in interminable debate with religious believers about the existence of god has become exactly the wrong way for nonbelievers to try to deal with misguided - and often dangerous - belief in a higher power. The key, author James Lindsay argues, is to stop that particular conversation.

Poorly developed arguments
Revisado: 03-15-22
I listened to a podcast by the author drawing a well thought through line of history from Hegel through Marx, the 20th century and right into the modern woke movement. Based on the podcast, I thought to read this book and was very disappointed. Lindsay likes to repeat the phrase, “the argument for the existence of God is over” but other than quoting some of his own like minded atheist philosophers, he really doesn’t even attempt to develop his thoughts.
He encourages people to question their “religious” friends in order to poke holes in what they believe, but it has been my experience in life that this same principle applies quite well when talking with people who believe in evolution. When 99% of all humanity through all of time believes in some notion of God, it is terribly arrogant to just try and state that the argument is over and now we need to figure out how to live in a post-god world.
In any case, this is not the place for a complete rebuttal. I would not recommend this book on many levels.
