I have questions.....

(Going to try and not spoil anything here in case ni one has seen rebels or Mandalorian and is picky about such things)

Timothy Zahn has blown the lid off star wars audiobooks with these two trilogies. Thrawn truly feels like the Sherlock of the new era of Star Wars media. If only his role and place was more certeralized.....

I can't help but view Thrawn as a cold hero, anti-hero perhaps, in these books though, despite the fact that he is catagorically a villian according to Disney Lucas Film. There seems to be a rift between the two depictions of him, undoubtedly due to the tone of Rebels, which is a pity since it seems to take so much away from this calculating Legend from the Unknown regions.

There better be another trilogy. If you haven't listened to the other three books pertaining to Thrawn's rise in the Chiss Ascendancy, GO LISTEN TO THEM RIGHT NOW!

Only issue is the narrator. Jason seems to speak a little too low at times. Otherwise, and excellent continuation of the journey, though it seems fly by too quickly.....

Too political - Save your money

The Narrator was good.
Having the past get trashed and talked down to or berated killed the plot after a couple of chapters.
Story concept behind it was good. Character, eh.
"USS Hillary Clinton".......
Was really hoping for another Taylor Anderson experience. No such luck here.

An excellent installment

Following along with the story and the various characters was tough at first, especially in the first and second books. No longer thankfully. The plot continues to thicken and flow. All paths eventually converge though and the author still seems to have some tricks up their sleeve.

Same issues as the first book then some

Ditch the accent. MC is interesting/irritating enough as it is. Some times a reasonable time skip is an order, perhaps with a jump/change of perspective (like to Tommy's POV). The abruptness of the stories ending is..... too abrupt. Final battle..... too easy? It might just be the narrator again or my own bias.

- Was getting a 'Baldur's Gate 3' vib from the last couple chapters. Its not a bad series despite the pitfalls. Will check out the next installment.

Dump the accent and its a beauty

Not as good as some of the other grim litrpg novels I've heard but it has a lot of potential. Wish the narrator hadn't gone for the accent and had kept it to specific characters.

Things are ramping up at a steady speed, the puzzle pieces falling into place, roughly but steadily so. Would still say that it feels too short for a single book.

Talk about a 'Tactical Nero'

Loved the story, wish it was a little less lineary or straight forward. Some more twists or surprises perhaps to shake things up. Other wise, a good follow up to the current story line. Karus needs more tactical creativity I think though... eh.

A lesser alternative prequel

Feels like its missing something. Similar character types and less POVs from the "cat people" and too much unsupported references and idle remarks at other entities in the world(uncovered in the other books). Is missing something more novel to it perhaps... a unique instance or group of survivors not attached to the MC and those accompanying 'them'(Americans).

Has the feeling of "Been there done that" sadly. Still a worth while read.

The Story Continues.....Epic!!

Some odd turns, not entirely unexpected incidents and good intrigue towards the end. Could use some change in pace though. Six books later and its still picking hairs when it comes to close calls. Enjoyed it none the less! So about book 8..... XD
