Historia
What would happen if you admitted you weren't a good person? It's a seemingly crazy question. From priests to prisoners, nearly everyone thinks they're morally better than average. Why change our minds? In his conversational and delightfully self-effacing style, Brant Hansen shows us why we should fight our drive to be self-righteous: it's breathtakingly freeing. What's more, just admitting that we're profoundly biased toward ourselves and want desperately to preserve our rightness at all costs even helps us improve our relationships with God and others.

Life-Changing
Revisado: 06-29-20
Brant Hansen has a way of telling us what almost all of us need to hear, but in a way that is easy to accept, even enjoyable. It's one of those books we want to tell all of our friends about. I'm sure we are better people for having read it.

Historia
Flourishing people are strong and weak. Two common temptations lure us away from abundant living: withdrawing into safety and grasping for power. True flourishing, says Andy Crouch, travels down an unexpected path - being both strong and weak. We see this unlikely mixture in the best leaders - people who use their authority for the benefit of others while also showing extraordinary willingness to face and embrace suffering.

Good for checking our motivations. Many ideas will stay with me. I'm glad my son recommended it.

Historia
Andy Crouch unleashes a stirring manifesto calling Christians to be culture makers. For too long, Christians have had an insufficient view of culture and have waged misguided "culture wars." But we must reclaim the cultural mandate to be the creative cultivators that God designed us to be. Culture is what we make of the world, both in creating cultural artifacts as well as in making sense of the world around us. By making chairs and omelets, languages and laws, we participate in the good work of culture making.

Loved it. This is one of those books that forces you to develop and change, your opinions and assumptions as you read. it's we'll written which helps head off any unnecessary confusion, I would defiantly recommend this book to anyone interested in the topic.

Historia
In this exciting case, Hank falls victim to a series of sneaky schemes. First a turkey debacle endangers his relationship with Sally May, then a case of poisoning puts him at death's doornail, and finally a disastrous ride to town almost finishes him off. As each terrible event takes its toll on his reputation - not to mention his dignity - Hank begins to notice a pattern. Could it be that an evil mastermind is behind these plots?

Maybe the best Hank yet

We love Hanks for the masterful storytelling on several levels that the whole family can enjoy together. This one is no exception. It kept us laughing and also pondering human (and dog) nature.
