Historia
We all feel it—the distraction, the loss of focus, the addictive focus on the wrong things for too long. We bump into the zombies on their phones in the street, and sometimes they’re us. We stare in pity at the four people at the table in the restaurant, all on their phones, and then we feel the buzz in our pocket. Something has changed utterly: for most of human history, the boundary between public and private has been clear, at least in theory. Now, as Chris Hayes writes, “With the help of a few tech firms, we basically tore it down in about a decade.”

I am so happy listening to the Tearoom Mysteries!
Revisado: 03-15-23
I love all the characters and I am fine with the minimal romance in the stories. I do tend to guess the murderer near the end, but I don't mind because I enjoy the humor most. Also, the narrator is great.

Historia
For nearly a century, Victorian London relied on “climbing boys” - orphans owned by chimney sweeps - to clean flues and protect homes from fire. The work was hard, thankless, and brutally dangerous. Eleven-year-old Nan Sparrow is quite possibly the best climber who ever lived - and a girl. But when Nan gets stuck in a deadly chimney fire, she fears her time has come. Instead, she wakes to find herself in an abandoned attic. And she is not alone. Huddled in the corner is a mysterious creature - a golem - made from ash and coal. This is the creature that saved her from the fire.

I loved this book!
Revisado: 06-21-22
I really enjoyed this book and place it on my list of all time favorites to read/listen to again. It was funny and exciting. I love a good mystery and this book fits that description. I am an adult and I recommend this book for young adults to elderly. There is no gore or excessive romance, The narrator was fantastic! He made Clark come to "life" for me and Clark is now one of my all time favorite characters. I am now listening to the second book and, so far, it is as good as the first.

Seventeen-year-old Aderyn ("Ryn") only cares about two things: her family and her family's graveyard. And right now, both are in dire straits. Since the death of their parents, Ryn and her siblings have been scraping together a meager existence as gravediggers in the remote village of Colbren, which sits at the foot of a harsh and deadly mountain range that was once home to the fae. The problem with being a gravedigger in Colbren, though, is that the dead don't always stay dead.
