Beautifully Written

As a black fantasy nerd, it's hard for me to connect with Mainstream fantasy. Not with "The Chosen" I felt right at home with this story. I could see myself in the very diverse cast of characters. it was very strange for me to see black main characters in a fantasy book. I quickly fell in love with the world and the lord of Darhavin. Do you want female empowerment? most of the hardest and most badass characters in this book are women, black women to boot. There is so much I can say about this book but I don't want to give anything away.
I love how the Authors blends the modern world with the fantasy world of Darhavin. I eagerly await book two to hit Audible.

I am a fan of the Author. So I grabbed this book when I saw it was by him. This book took me by surprise. It tells a different side of the Palestine-Israeli conflict that we have never heard of before. It made me uncomfortable. But I soon found myself cheering for the oppressed Palestinians and cursing the oppressive Israelis.
Ben Amin is a terrorist. The author does not hide that fact. He just shows that people are not just born a "Terrorist" that being Muslim does not make you a "terrorist". People who are brutally oppressed and victimized by a more powerful enemy do desperate things. History has taught us this about all people. This book was sad and had a touch of romance to it. Myself being a black woman I could relate to the struggle of "Ben Amin"

A harsh and brutal review of Amerikkka. Jesse gives you a peek into his mind. He grants his listeners a view of his world from his eyes. He being a product of a racist system that was designed to keep Black men oppressed. He is the very definition of hate that hate created.

As a black woman, the truths in this book were hard to hear. Jesse's voice is like a militant Kevin Samuels or a Umar Johnson x100. Not only did he criticize us he laid out a plan on how to solve the many problems in our community. He laid out a revolution should be fought. I have no idea why this book is not mainstream black literature.

Couldn't stop listening

It's always a risk giving a new author a try. But I LOVED this book. It's not only empowering for women who have been bruised and hurt it's also a love story at its core. A tragic love story that spans thousands of years. But a love story nonetheless. I'm going to buy the first book in the series and listen to that now.

I'm a huge fan of Paranormal and Angels. Just when I was getting tired of the current selections in this genre I find "Mala'ik" This is the dark angelic romance we all need. ANYA!!! OMG I was in tears. A must-read and hear.
