Listen to the hype
Revisado: 01-20-25
This book truly changed my life. It pulled things out of me that I haven’t felt in years. I sobbed physical tears and I couldn’t stop crying. I couldn’t put it down and I am someone that isn’t an avid reader but if you’re looking for a gut wrenching, book of the queer experience this is finally your book. I even bought a physical copy that’s how much I love this book. I would read it again.

Boring cliche

Ending is rushed, basic high school troupes. Was kinda mad how it ended. Don’t waste your time with this book.

Boring
Revisado: 07-23-23
Predictable and overall dull. The book was so drab and annoying I was dreading picking it up. I’ve heard this same story line in 10 other books. Cliches and no character development.

So I was the type that watched to show first. I think thats the best way to watch the show and then read the book. The tv has the drama, but the book has depth.

Good

I think straight people that would like to see the perspective of what someone that is queer identifying especially a gay male in a relgious household it would be good to educate. Also a good book to give to someone who thinks religion is the final say for everything. As someone who is queer i guess it felt predictable? Like it took me back to my middle school and high school days but kinda dramatized with the stigma of people being bullying and “not getting” the gay stuff. The voices kinda blended together especially with then they voiced the boys. Sometimes i would have to go back and listen to who was actually saying what and to who.

Historia
Jacob Hunt is a teen with Asperger's syndrome. He's hopeless at reading social cues or expressing himself well to others, though he is brilliant in many ways. But he has a special focus on one subject - forensic analysis. A police scanner in his room clues him in to crime scenes, and he's always showing up and telling the cops what to do. And he's usually right. But when Jacob's small hometown is rocked by a terrible murder, law enforcement comes to him. Jacob's behaviors are hallmark Asperger's, but they look a lot like guilt to the local police.

It was a ride
Revisado: 08-29-20
At first I didnt like the book but thats because it reminded me of my life growing up with an older brother with special needs; I had my biases. As the story progresses it brings me in and loses me at times but I also couldn’t put it down. (Some of it was kinda predictable, narratively speaking) I haven’t felt like that over a book in a while. As far as the connection between vaccines and Autism, personally didnt bother me. It was one perspective that should be heard. I dont know what its like to have an autistic child and so I wouldn’t know where I would stand if i felt like vaccines did that to my child. But for “Dr” Chris P Hafner to be that upset is kinda embarrassing. I would hope if you read this book you do your own research before coming to a conclusion because of a fictional book. So as far as the book goes, it had me wondering the whole time who did it and at the end I was very pleased my mouth dropped when it all came out. I tied everything nicely. Maybe people have high expectations or something but for someone who listened to this book with an open mind I enjoyed it. Go ahead fall into this book, it wont kill you. :)
