Historia
A fiction podcast, based on the new novel 'After the Revolution' by Robert Evans. After The Revolution is set fifty years in the future, in a Texas wracked by civil war. We follow three characters: a "fixer" named Manny who leads reporters through the warzone, a young extremist named Sasha determined to join a militia called the Heavenly Kingdom, and an old veteran named Roland with a body full of U.S. army cyber-ware and a bunch of missing memories.

Evans book is more majestic than a 3 wolves shirt
Revisado: 11-29-21
Finally, a futuristic novel I can get on board with.
Most modern dystopian literature seems to be written by dudes who write constitutional fan fiction in between prepping run’s to their local Walmart. Not this book. “After the Revolution” is a witty, dark, and wildly entertaining documentary about life in the post truth era. Full of memorable characters in fantastic places, the books frantic pacing kept me entertained and dialed in for the entire trip.
More “The Dark Tower” than “Patriots”, you’ll rarely feel the need to shower after listening to the subtle, between-the-lines political commentary. If you’re fan of anything halfway decent, do yourself a favor and get this book (seriously).

Historia
The United States has two separate banking systems today - one serving the well-to-do and another exploiting everyone else. How the Other Half Banks contributes to the growing conversation on American inequality by highlighting one of its prime causes: unequal credit. Mehrsa Baradaran examines how a significant portion of the population, deserted by banks, is forced to wander through a Wild West of payday lenders and check-cashing services to cover emergency expenses and pay for necessities - all thanks to deregulation that began in the 1970s.

Great info, infuriating

Information most people should be aware of, book is very dense (textbook like). I recommend.

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Narrator so so
Revisado: 03-03-17
I would suggest reading it if you haven't watched the show over and over. Can be hard to follow all the names in audio book format. Narrator is a little annoying. Story a++

A delightful and inspiring story
Revisado: 09-02-16
I am so glad that I got the audio version of this book because Linda narrated it so well! I really felt each and every word as she intended. She does an excellent Elvis impression, which is a major plus. Overall this story really touched my heart and I was sad when it ended. Great job Linda!
