Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Historia
Zero is just one of 20,000 people aboard a spaceship bound for a new planet set to be colonized. The journey is over a century long but luckily, everyone is in stasis, so they’ll be safe and sound asleep during the trip. Everyone that is, except for Zero, whose pod has malfunctioned, waking him up a hundred years early. His initial excitement in roaming the ship alone quickly turns to a heart-stopping interstellar adventure when a family of space pirates show up, trying to hijack the ship and take the colonizers hostage.

Perfect for new teachers
Revisado: 01-14-18
I recommend this book to any teacher who feels lost, unsuccessful, beaten, worn down, demoralized and hopeless. To teachers like me, who are only a couple of years in and feel like nothing that you do gets you anywhere. The bigger the responsibility that you have, the more of a reason to read this book. All of the feelings described above are part of a long process to mastery. The key to coming out of this low period and beginning your journey to success is realizing that everything you are going through IS the beginning of your journey.
