The tell of two champions
Revisado: 12-10-19
A well written story that keeps you captivated. You really want to see how it ends. It’s a perfect two strand tell that comes together in the end. I really enjoyed the African village vs. the grand palace and two ladies that live so different but the same. This book is a great read for teens and young adults.

Historia
This debut collection is a complicated love letter to Washington, DC, and to those who call it home: a TSA agent who's never flown, a girl braving new worlds to play piano, and a teacher caught up in a mayoral race. These characters navigate life's "training school" - with lessons on gentrification and respectability - and fight to create their own sense of space and self.

A thoughtful walk down memory lane
Revisado: 04-10-19
It is refreshing and filed in some of the blanks of my childhood visits to Washington, DC. I understood the mind sets and the positions and the views of all the characters. I live the experience of a interracial marriage wanting to live in an all black community. My daughter living between two worlds of a Black and Hispanic high school and being a ballerina in a predominately white ballet school. This book speaks to and reveals every black woman and man that desires to do well and succeed and still keep their black roots. Enjoy!

Historia
This transcendent story follows four college friends who move to New York City, buoyed by ambition: Willem, an aspiring actor; JB, an artist; Malcolm, an architect; and, at the center, Jude, a withdrawn, brilliant attorney haunted by an unspeakable past. Through decades of shared and separate lives, Jude’s suffering - and its impact on those who love him - raises questions about the limits of human endurance, the possibility for redemption, and the meaning of friendship.

Life's perspective
Revisado: 11-04-16
This book makes me believe my life, the situations I have experienced, and hardship I thought I went through is not half as bad as what life can really throw at you.
This book made me cry, laugh a little bit hope a little bit, and then cry again.
Despite the lengthiness of the book it kept me engaged and I wanted to find out what happens next. My heart really goes out to all of the characters in the book. I love Harold and Juliet the most and I'm grateful for the idea that there are people in the world like them. It is good to have lifelong friendships that spanned the test of time even through hardships and loss.
I will only recommend this book
to someone who has a very strong mental aptitude for self-mutilation, constant sorrow, and basically comprehension of mental illness.

Suspend disbelief, and your common sense.
Revisado: 03-23-16
I understand this is supposedly post Apocalypto of some kind but it is one of the worst stories I have read with no stable plot. I hate having a pretty good understanding of how babies are made and how the sex is dictated. It was so many flaws within the scientific part of the story, and character development. They never once looked at all the men that was inhabiting the earth in droves. The story had too many holes, and nothing was tied up at the end of the book.

Keep your interest
Revisado: 09-16-15
This will continue to be as descriptive and sensual as the last book. It was very nice that they changed it up to keep your interest, by letting them travel to an unknown land with new unknown demands on them. It was nice to see them embrace it and conform to it. But most of all I was very happy to see that Sleeping Beauty found her true love.

Finish the whole story!
Revisado: 02-18-15
The story was very cool, I was hoping that we found out more about wake is underlying memorandum. Jetsons dying did not in wickets plot to finding the cure or torturing immune's. Just because they made it to what they viewed a paradise isolated from the contagious people doesn't mean that life was all that great without some planning. In the end I would really like to know what happened to Wicked, and the cranks.
