Missing the beginning of chapter 3

I found myself confused at what was happening in Chapter 3 even after listening to the first two chapters over again. So I went and pulled the text book and discovered that the reader somehow missed half of the third chapter which is probably the most crucial part of the entire book thus far. How can you trust the rest of this book knowing it simply missed a huge chunk this early on. Does anyone vet these before they go on the audible store??
