Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Historia
Seth Andrews idolized Rush Limbaugh. He listened to Glenn Beck. He read Ann Coulter. He watched Fox News. He was an evangelical Christian once tethered to right-wing media, which constantly warned of an attack on American values by liberals and secular humanists. Today, Seth is a liberal and secular humanist. This audiobook explores the Fox News culture, which both reflects and informs American conservatism, shaping public opinion on important issues like religion, government, race, foreign policy, war, protest, LGBT rights, and the Constitution.

Seth Doesn’t Disappoint...Again!
Revisado: 12-28-20
If you love hearing Seth’s awesome voice and listening to his shows, you’ll LOVE this one. My wife is a Fox News atheist and Trumper (I’m still not sure how that happened). She loves Seth and was willing to listen to some of it. Although she goes from zero to sixty in 2 seconds with rage when you speak badly of Donald, she remained cool the entire chapter I played for her. This is really great for anyone. It’s not aggressive or offensive and definitely stated the truth. Great book Seth! I can’t wait for your next one.

Historia
Atheism's leading lights have long been intellectuals raised in the secular and academic worlds: Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and the late Christopher Hitchens. By contrast, Jerry DeWitt was born and bred into the church and was in fact a Pentecostal preacher before arriving at atheism through an extraordinary dialogue with faith that spanned more than a quarter of a century. Hope After Faith is his account of that journey. DeWitt was a pastor in the town of DeRidder, Louisiana, and was a fixture of the community. In private, however, he'd begun to question his faith.

Excellent Story, Excellent Presentation
Revisado: 03-27-16
If you could sum up Hope After Faith in three words, what would they be?
Journey for truth!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Hope After Faith?
When Jerry could not pray with the woman who called her in the middle of the night.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Jerry lost his job and family, just because of his personal beliefs. This was very sad and moving for me.
Any additional comments?
Coming out of fundamentalist Christianity is very difficult. Those who go through this instantly seek out other apostates for emotional support. While listening to this audio book, I felt like I was not alone.

Historia
Step back to Christianity's first three centuries to see how it transitioned from the religion of Jesus to a religion about Jesus. How did a single group from among many win the struggle for dominance to establish the beliefs central to the faith, rewrite the history of Christianity's internal conflicts, and produce a canon of sacred texts – the New Testament – that supported its own views?

Bart Ehrman Does it Again!
Revisado: 03-20-16
This was impossible to put down. I listened to almost the entire lecture in one sitting. Lots of substance. Of course, what else can you expect from the great Dr. Ehrman?
