Love It!
Revisado: 01-26-19
This book is awesome. If you love WW2 fiction, and coming if age stories then this is right up your alley. This book is already great, but Ron Perlman does a great job bringing it to life.

Historia
Power is changing. Private corner offices and management by decree are out, as is unquestioned trust in the government and media. These former pillars of traditional power have been replaced by networks of informed citizens who collectively wield more power over their personal lives, employers, and worlds than ever before. So how do you navigate this new landscape and come out on top? Adam Grant, Wharton organizational psychologist, went to the World Economic Forum in Davos, the epicenter of power, and sat down with thought leaders from around the world, to find out.

Historia
Drawing on dozens of intimate audio interviews with families from all across the country, award-winning psychologist and writer Andrew Solomon redefines what it means to be an “ideal family” in America today. Solomon observes that America, led in large part by the women’s, civil rights, and gay rights movements, has undergone a radical social shift in the last few decades. Although the structure of family has changed, economic and legal structures lag behind and need to adapt to accommodate this explosive new reality.

Enlightening
Revisado: 12-31-18
Wonderful listen, and a great windows view to the worlds of others. I appreciated the introspection from all of those who participated in sharing their stories. I related to some, found beauty in others, and most importantly found a new understanding of the world we now live in. The future is terrifying, but it's great to know that anyone & everyone can find their families & a place to call home.

Fun read for devoted fans
Revisado: 12-03-18
If you are a fan of this franchise, then you should pick up this book. Definitely fun to hear from Hansen's POV about the movie. If you aren't already a BIG fan of the movie, or Gunnar then you may find it difficult to stay focused throughout. I would say I'm your average fan of horror (this movie being among my favorites), and I enjoyed the book!

I'm a big fan of the Friday the 13th franchise, and it was awesome to hear Kane go through his life. His voice is so distinct, and his honesty was so real. Good read for any fan of his, or fan of horror in general!!

Failure Is an Option

Historia
While he's not quite a household name, most people would consider H. Jon Benjamin, the voice-actor star of Archer and Bob's Burgers (and a sentient can of mixed vegetables in 2015's Wet Hot American Summer) a comedy show business success. But he'd like to remind everyone that as great as success can be, failure is also an option. In a hilarious, self-deprecating memoir, Jon lays out some of his many failures in all areas of life, from Work ("wherein I'm unable to deliver a sizzling fajita") to Family ("wherein a trip to PF Chang's fractures a family").

That it is
Revisado: 11-06-18
I picked this book up after hearing H. Jon Benjamin's voice on Bob's Burgers, and wanting to hear more. Now, I have to say that I wasn't really a big fan of the show before I picked up this book. I just enjoyed his voice, and seeing the title I just had to pick it up. Life is FULL of little failures, and instead of hide from them, or push them away, Jon reminds us to just accept them.
We may be the benefactors of our own success, but we are the byproduct of our failures, too. This is the book for the person struggling to find their niche, or the person who keeps getting knocked down. Do yourself a favor, and give this a listen. You aren't the only one who has ended up down & out.

Revisado: 11-06-18
Charlamagne tha God demonstrated poise throughout the entire delivery of his book. i enjoyed his brutal honesty, which at times were a detriment to his own character. Being from Summerville, SC I enjoyed hearing about his upbringing, and youth. I enjoyed hearing the success story of somebody who came from my area.
This is a book that is worth the listen. Especially if you are a person struggling with your own truth. Whether you're black, white, gay, straight, man, or woman I think you can absolutely take more than a few things from this book.
