Historia
For John, death was merely the beginning. Transmigrating into a new world granted him an opportunity to change his view on life. With power and immortality as new goals, he is willing to pay any price. Unfortunately, there are those willing to take advantage of him and his unfamiliarity with a new world. Shadows behind the curtains, unwilling to reveal themselves, will trick him into doing their bidding.

Interesting concept, flawed recording, good story
Revisado: 05-30-19
If you don't want to read the whole review the title says most of it. First off the recording on this first in the series has a serious humming noise anytime the narrator speaks. I am not sure if the narrator is new but he is a bit wooden early on in the book, the story and concept kept me listening. From what I understood in the book the main character is supposed to be British and he has an american accent.
I can only imagine if this was read by one of the top notch narrators. I would have given it 5 stars across.
I have listened to the first 3 books of the series and the narrator does "grow" in that his narration gets better. The hum noise is only heard on the first book and only when listening through headphones.
I have listened to a lot of the litrpg and life change type novels on audible. This was a refreshing take on the litrpg genre. I could almost imagine cookie clicker in the first part of the book when the character started growing his skills. I did enjoy that it is NOT an angsty novel about killing and doing things you wouldn't normally do to "level up".
If this is ever re-recorded I would suggest you have a second narrator read the system messages and the character sheet when it is read. It would give a more system feel to it.

Historia
Young Michael, an illegal immigrant escaping the troubles in Northern Ireland is strong and fearless and clever, just the fellow to be tapped by Darkey, a crime boss, to join a gang of Irish thugs struggling against the rising Dominican powers in Harlem and the Bronx. The time is pre-Giuliani New York, when crack rules the city, squatters live furtively in ruined buildings, and hundreds are murdered each month.

Wordy I may well be
Revisado: 04-22-13
Would you listen to Dead I Well May Be again? Why?
I would listen again because of the reader. It was an excellent reading. The accents were done really well.
What about Gerard Doyle’s performance did you like?
It was one of the best I have heard. His accents, his phrasing and pauses make the story so much better!
Any additional comments?
While the book was very good, there are passages that go on and on that are just "artistic writing" I like books for the story. I don't mind ambience and scene setting but there was too much of this in the book. I still really enjoyed the book.
