Took a while to see but Frank Peretti (my favorite author) and Ted Dekker did an excellent job of making it clear to see what was really happening by using different parts of scripture that fit the situation and reflected the true nature of each character in the story. I read the hard copy of this book previously in the past but I don’t remember understanding it and getting so much out it as I have listening to it. Loved it even more. Makes one think also.

Fascinating and gripping

Unsure of what to expect in the beginning of the story but was able to see rather quickly where the story was going. Written as fiction, it still makes one pause and think about God, His love for us and how we seem to take our lives for granted. How we assign importance to things in our lives that are really insignificant when compared to our time here on earth. It took me from suspense in the beginning to tears at the end. But left me with a feeling of amazement at the end.

Gripping all the way through!

Such imagination! Perfect blend of suspense, anticipation and storyline. Story is an example of how we can call on God anywhere, anytime and He will meet us where we are. And even rescue us if needed. Beautifully done!

Suspenseful, imaginative, intense yet revealing. This work was outside the box and a total success! I have read the hardcover and now listened to it here on Audible. Enjoyed it immensely! 5 Stars!!!

Gripping!!!

Clever, intense, funny, loving, and brilliant. Surprisingly entertaining. Would’ve love for the the story to have been a little longer. Thoroughly enjoyed it though.

A roller coaster of suspense, excitement...

Wonder, fantasy and reality beautifully woven into a story of love, spiritual awareness, longing, lost and found, past, present, and eternity. The story goes along slowly pulling you into it until you’re able to actually envision what’s happening from a literal spectator’s perspective like watching a movie. Like being in a movie but not necessarily a part of the story. The story grips you at times, and you feel as if you’re on an amusement park ride that seems never ending. Frank Peretti’s narration of his own book made the story believable even though you know it’s fiction. It left me with the feeling that things are never as bad as they could be. And that sharing time and space with someone you love is stronger than anything science can explain.

Tedious to listen to with all of the colorful words used to describe each scene. It wasn’t captivating or enticing for me, however I would recommend it for those that prefer inconclusive endings.

Should be a movie!...

The descriptive, captivating and enthralling story is brilliantly written. Storyline starts off a little slow, then ever so cunningly reveals an imagination of heaven and it’s connection to man through the creative imagery and writing talent of the author. Just as thrilling and powerful as I remember!

Fist read this book in the early 90’s and then again several years later. I remember reading the entire book in one night the first time and in two nights the second time. The story is relatable even though it’s fictional and the angels being strengthened by prayer is empowering for me. It’s a reminder that prayer, communication with God and faith can bring you through anything. Hearing the book narrated by the author makes it more amazing.
