Reminiscent of Christie’s Poirot. A bit contrived, as suspects will spill details when cornered. Narrator is good at separating characters. A worthwhile listen, but not sure I will continue series.

The original “Scythe” book was good for young adults (age 11+). This third installment is definitely for an older group (16+). The story twists and turns through a mostly interesting journey (Thunderhead monologues get a bit stale). Unfortunately , there’s no ending... we will have to wait for the next book, and there’s a lot of loose ends to tie up.

Sanderson spends too much time trying to create comedy and meaningless dialogue in this one. While the book wraps up well, it drags in the middle. It's also has way more "adult content" than previous ones.

If you are not in the IT / High Tech industry, and want to get a sense of how large organizations run, and how Dev-Ops evolved, this is for you. Otherwise, if you have seen this stuff every day for years, it's a bit forced, stereotyped, and contrived. The writers try so hard to complete the complex picture of organizational interactions, that they don't make a very engaging story.

If my college Biology course covered this same content, I might have even considered a career in molecular Biology! While there are some lectures that didn't interest me, about 75 percent of them were fascinating. Prof. Nowicki does a masterful job of providing motivation for each lecture, then guiding the listener on a logical path to the goal. Considering the cost of tuition at Duke, getting these 72 half-hour lectures for a single credit is a steal. It takes focus to keep up at times, and it might take a couple of listens to sink in. However, there are several great stories and anecdotes that are easy to take and you'll the newly learned facts to your friends.

This was my first introduction to author Blake, and I am pleasantly surprised. This isn't too over the top like Gray Man book. It has a bit of a different take on the thriller because it's set in Mexico. With Dick Hill as the narrator, it reminds me a bit of Lee Child's writing. Conspiracy is well done. It's not perfect, but a breath of fresh air to the genre, and I will be reading the rest of the series.

This was quite a let-down after the impressive Child-44 series. I only made it through 60% of the audiobook before I gave up.

I was fooled by the overall rating on this book. It doesn't belong in the same stratosphere as the really good 4-star reads (Child, Coben, Johnson). The dialogue is wooden, and the writing is just plain hard to swallow.

Men, if you are like me, you will have a hard time getting into the book and staying in the moment. From the very start, the writing is just not very good. The superlatives are forced and dialogue is unnatural. Other reviewers seem enamored with the idea of the book, but it's hard to get past the writing itself.

I've never been crazy about Sci-Fi or Fantasy, but this book (and series) is excellent. It reminds me a bit of a well-written TV sitcom like 'Frasier', in that it's all about the characters and the funny situations. You find yourself rooting for the main character. Pratchett writing style is best described as whimsical. The narration by Stephen Briggs is amazingly good. I can't imagine it being done any better. He has a wide range of voices, with great interpretation that adds to the experience, especially the voice of the Golem.
