A delicious journey!
Revisado: 04-18-24
French cooking is one of life’s delights, and Lyon a soul city for me. To take this journey with the author, his family and everyone he met along the way was lovely. I put my hand to my heart over the losses and laughed out loud at the delivery and timing.

Wish there was Moore!
Revisado: 01-15-24
To hear the true story of someone whose Bible teaching has impacted my life so much is a gift.
To be reminded that people of faith are all just hoping for more with Jesus, and to serve him as best we can.
I cackled out loud multiple times, and clutched my chest in heartbreak half as much.
Hope for more books like this from Beth Moore. :)

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Historia
Pete Greig is a worldwide authority and the face of a generation when it comes to prayer. One of the founders of the 24-7 Prayer movement, he has seen, experienced, and chronicled amazing works of God in the world. While you might imagine him to be puffed up, Pete Greig is entirely the opposite. He is enchanting, down-to-earth, friendly, and most of all, very normal - and yet he tells preposterous tales about prayer (and they're true). He is basically a regular dude who loves to talk with God.

We are surrounded by choices. If we want to watch a movie, we have multiple platforms we can choose from. If we grow tired of a friend or conversation, we leave them on read. It's never been easier to tune out and make a switch when something doesn't go perfectly or when we are offended. It's easy to cancel something from our lives when it comes to technology, television shows, or choices of food and drinks. But what about canceling friends or family members when we are disappointed or offended by them?

Full of personal stories, research, and wisdom, this book is what’s needed for many of us at this moment in life and in culture. Absolutely recommend

A full heart
Revisado: 07-18-22
Bob Goff is an incredible storyteller, not because of his well crafted writing (although there is that), but because he tells great stories with his life, and he loves the people in his life deeply.
This is the second book I’ve read by Bob, and have ended each with a full heart and a renewed hope for what’s possible.

Historia
Tyler Merritt's video "Before You Call the Cops" has been viewed millions of times. He's appeared on Jimmy Kimmel and Sports Illustrated and has been profiled in the New York Times. The viral video's main point - the more you know someone, the more empathy, understanding, and compassion you have for that person - is the springboard for this book. By sharing his highs and exposing his lows, Tyler welcomes us into his world in order to help bridge the divides that seem to grow wider every day.

Make a new friend
Revisado: 12-29-21
This audiobook is unlike any other I’ve listened to, weaving in side conversations with the author’s producer, and bringing in guests like his mom and his best friend. There really isn’t a better way to experience this book but through audio.
It also feels like having coffee with a friend that turns into an all day hang. Tyler Merritt’s ability to weave history, memoir, humor, pop culture and vulnerability into a story that you can’t put down.

A must read for creatives
Revisado: 09-14-21
Somehow being both a creative and a person of faith has been misunderstood. In “I’m Possible”, Jeremy Cowart reminds us that life as a creative can live in the holiest and most magical of places with God. That we are made for something special, with a unique purpose. A purpose to impact others, and to make life better and more connected.
If you want to be inspired, read this book. If you have lost your hope of what’s possible, read this book. If your creativity has run dry, read this book.

If your funny older sister were the former deputy chief of staff to President Barack Obama, her behind-the-scenes political memoir would sound something like this. Who Thought This Was a Good Idea? is an intimate and admiring portrait of a president, a candid book of advice for young women, and a promising debut from a savvy political star.

Laughed a lot and cried a little
Revisado: 08-15-21
Loved this audiobook! Alyssa’s delivery is comedic and personable. Yes, of course, her memoir is a tale of government, inside scoop and the White House stories we all want.
But it is also the story of a woman building her career, owning her place in the world, standing firm her strengths, being authentic about the weaknesses, and figuring out relationships, outfits and dating. Alyssa’s story is that of many women, she just had a few more famous characters than most. Def give it a listen.

Exactly what I needed
Revisado: 08-06-21
What’s beautiful about Courtney Ellis’ “Happy Now” is that she asks her reader to rediscover play on the heels of her own journey to do the same. She’s not a play therapy expert and her book is not about big sweeping gestures or overhauling our lives.
It’s about bringing out the delight in our everyday moments. It’s about noticing and being intentionally present.
I experienced “Happy Now” as audiobook, and as I listened, I could almost swear Courtney was smiling as she read it to me. Happiness from start to finish. It was a reset after a tough season for world.
